I have a XDM 9MM for CCW and been thinking about getting a red dot. I carry IWB and while I'm an active runner / hockey player, I am a bit overweight and have a muffin top that can cause an IWB to jam into my side while carrying frequently. Will a red dot be 1) durable enough to sustain pressure and jostling during CCW; and 2) hold accuracy? Thanks.

Is this a joke? Because it seems like a joke.

No, but if it's a dumb question and a properly mounted decent red dot will hold true while rubbing constantly against your side then mods can delete this post.

A high quality MRDS will be more durable than your XD.

I would worry more about getting fat guy spooge on the lens more than the optic failing. It should be fine.

Ha, I don't know what fat guy spooge is...and don't want to know.

If your muffin top wraps around a red dot, you would find out.

If it doesn't get lost,
the sight will be fine

Depending on the RDS, yes or no.  Most optics now are durable enough to take side pressure, but some optics are just not that durable in general.  Any optic that can pass decent durability testing will be durable enough to carry IWB against the spare tire.

I don't think even the cheap chinese red dots are quite so shitty that being pressed up against a muffin top and shaken around would be problematic for them.

RMR and Deltapoint Pro are duty grade for carry, including concealed.

If your RDS can survive being stomped on and tossed around by various parcel carriers from the time it leaves the factory door, passing through various distributor/retailers hands until it finally ends it journey at your doorstep...it'll survive being nestled against some unwanted cellulite.

OP, the red dot is the least of your problems.
