Just got my Tier 1 axis in for my M17. Love how it conceals but fuck it’s a PITA to sit. I ordered up some foam wedges to aid with comfort and I’m gonna work on adjusting it for comfort. I’ve almost squished a nut on the seat getting out of the car.

It sounds like you need to adjust the ride height of the holster if your clips are height adjustable. A good way to do it is to sit down in a chair after adjusting the height to see if hot spots show up. If they do, adjust the height until they do not. Take a look at mastermind tactics. They make "pillows" that are much more durable than the foam wedges. I have not used them myself just yet as I have never had the need to up until now. Just picked up and old school S&W 5946 and the AIWB holster that I have for it leaves a lot to be desired (not many making holsters for a 5946) and could definitely use it.

Good info! I’m waiting on the wedges and a new belt to arrive so I can work on getting it “comfortable”. Also it’s just time getting used to having gun above my crotch

+1 on the MM pillows, I swapped out a JM wedge for a pillow,
carried my XL 14-15 hrs a day and ordered 2 more,
same result with my 2.0 c 4".
It's been 95-97 humid degrees for the last few day's and
no hot spot at the muzzle.
They may not work for everybody but I'm sold.

I’ve been appendix carrying since maybe 04”, and have tried most of what is out there. The holsters with attached mag carriers never worked at all for me. Too much mass up front and it kills the comfort level when things can’t move independently. Also sucks when you have to take a piss.

I’d return that rig, and look into JM Custom Kydex, Keepers Concealment, Custom Carry Concepts, or Dark Star. These vendors specialize in AIWB. They didn’t just develop a new holster because of a popular trend.

I can carry anything from a P365 to a 5” 1911 all day with no comfort issues whatsoever.

FWIW: AIWB with a weapon mounted light is extremely body dependent. I’ve tried and cannot do it with the increased footprint.

It’s the Specialist belt. The one in the pic was a limited run with an aluminum buckle. They do a lot of limited runs.

This is the one I just ordered:

I've been using a couple of Wilderness instructor belts with titanium buckles for years. I also have a couple of Milt Sparks which don't get used much anymore. Thought I'd try something different. I also ordered a Ares Aegis.

Same here.  Very lean, athletic physique and I have yet to find an appendix carry setup that is remotely comfortable.  I just ordered a PHLster Enigma rig for my 43x, hoping it works for me.  There’s a guy at the gym who is pretty jacked, but only about 5‘7“ tall, he swears by appendix carry.   Not sure what the variables are, but I’m not ready to give up on it

I'm 11% body fat with visible abs. It's not the grip digging into my gut like many gripe about, it's the muzzle that bothers me when sitting. Plus, its damn near impossible to take a piss with all that crap in the way.

I found your problem.

The secret to AIWB is to carry a bigger gun. The tiny little micro compacts don't reach down far enough below your belt to counteract the force of the grip getting pushed outward by your body. If the grip sticks up from the belt further than the muzzle goes below the belt, the grip ends up getting a lot of leverage, and the muzzle digs into your groin.

Try a holster made for a G34. You don't have to carry a G34, a G19 or G17 will be fine, but you want the holster to be G34 length.  Even better is a G34 with an X300 since that adds more width under the belt, but you need the right holster to prevent it digging into your leg. I like the Bawidamann Gotham.  It works for just about any double stack Glock.  I use it with a G19 with dot X300 and comp, as well as a G21 with dot and X300.
