For those running the Tenicor for a 1911, how does the spacer they provide work? Is there still some type of tactile and audible click/feedback when the pistol is fully seated or does it more so feel like a light friction fit? Thanks!

They come with 3 of those spacer things. They basically cam the butt of the pistol into your body. I use the thinnest one on all my Tenicor holsters. They work really well. Better then claws, IMO.

There is an audible clip when holstering your firearm. You can adjust tension to whatever you prefer.

IMO, Tenicor is the best AIWB on the market. The Certum 3 is my jam.

Tenicor if you need it yesterday, QVO Tactical is great if you don't mind waiting. The fit is great and the Cordura wrap option is fantastic for comfort. I have carried my Dan Wesson Specialist appendix in 2 different Tenicors and one QVO, few complaints with either companies product.

Tenicor holsters do have a slight click in on the light bearing models and a more positive click on the non-light bearing. I personally run the retention fairly loose though as I do not care for the click in once a belt, body, and the added retention from the holster being sandwiched between them comes into play.

As far as the concealment wing/claw/spacer whatever, I (5'9, 185lbs, 32" waist) find myself liking the largest one the best, YMMV.

tenicor certum. I added some padding to the back. its great. My friends are shocked that I can completely conceal a 5" govt without them knowing. That include a spare mag aiwb most of the time too. Im 6.2 180# 32" waist. I dont have a tacitcal beer gut helping me hide it.

Does anyone carry a 1911 in an appendix holster? If so, which holster do you recommend?

TIA

How do you grip that with it set so low?

Does anyone make one with only a clip/strap over the trigger guard?  Or have any of you removed the attachment over the slide?

I just hate having a clip/strap over the slide because it adds so much thickness to the holster.

With modern metal clips there really isn't much extra thickness.

With a lot of the dual clip holsters out there, you can run them as single clip holsters and remove the one over the slide. However, like 03RN said:

Discreet Carry Concepts clips, like those standard on Tenicor holsters pictured in this thread, really do slim down the profile of a dual clip holster. I have sworn by these style clips since I first tried them out a few years ago.

I find the appendix carry for a hair trigger gun sus because I feel like the safety could accidentally come off when you are bending over or something. The fact your holster protects the thumb safety seems like a good idea.

The Tenicor Velo/Certum holsters have a recess for the thumb safety on the sweat guard side. I have a Velo and a LAS Saya and both are pretty equal to me. The LAS plastic clips aren’t as nice as the thin metal belt clips that come on the Tenicor, but LAS does offer metal clips as an add on.
