I have a few G17 mags that I was going to replace springs in as maintenance.  I know the 11-coil springs are intended for .40 cal Glocks or mags with the +2 extension on them, but I'm wondering if there is any reason why the wouldn't work in a standard 17 mag?

I use them in mags that I use to shoot competitions where you can only load 10 rounds in a magazine (USPSA Production, or Pro Am falling steel matches).

You do lose 1 round capacity, they will only load to 16 with the 11 coil springs, you maybe can force 17 but it will be so tight it will be hard to seat and may malfunction on the first shot.

I suppose you could, but there's really no reason whatsoever to use the 11-coil .40cal mag springs in 9mm mags. If you're looking for stronger mag springs, just get Wolff + power.
