I’ve heard that putting a red dot on any semi auto that is bigger than 9mm will not last ? Want to put one on my G20 but not if the recoil is going to destroy it. I know Glock makes an MOS for the 10mm but ...

I've not seen a case of a failing red dot in a long time. Back in the 90's I saw red dots fail on Open Class race guns, like .38 Supers and .40's in major class.

A modern red dot on a conventional pistol, I'd have no worries. Get something with a no BS lifetime warranty and call it a day.

It might be true if it is a Chinese clone, or airsoft quality.

A friend has a Holosun 507c green circle dot one on his G20.

It's still alive after at least a few hundred rounds.
