So far, my Mil-Spec and my Garrison have been 100% with WWB 230 grain ball and USA Ready flat noses, as well as Blazer brass-cased 230-grain FMJ.  I have not had the time or money to try out a variety of self-defense loads.

I use Ed Brown mags for serious ammo.

That's why I'm starting this thread--please tell your experiences good or bad with different ammo in your Springfields.

I have a TRP that has yet to have issues with anything.  Various "defensive" loads, cheap bulk of whatever I could find.

I have found with 1911s, most issues seem to be solved with quality mags.  I have had really good luck with Springfield factory mags, but also with Chip McCormicks.

My Loaded and Range Officer eat everything, including 175, 185 and 200 grain SWCs and the old flying ashtray HPs.

My Garrison has no issues with 230 grain Freedom Munitions Reman, Federal 230 Hydra Shocks and 230 grain Sig V Crown..

I've been shooting every kind of ammo imaginable through my Loaded for 15 years with no issues ever.  I do use CMC mags though.

I carried a Springfield 1911 LW Govt 45 for a duty weapon for a couple of years.

Replaced guide rod with a regular GI from Ed Brown

Had 4 Tripp magazines

Everything worked except first couple hundred rounds
Did not like WWB fmj

For a duty load, I was carrying 230 hydra shocks

I hear the newer Springfield 9mm 1912 have tight chambers
Neighbor bought a chamber reamer and fixed his

My Champion would not run +P HST without a flat firing pin stop.

I haven't found an ammo/mag combination that my Loaded won't reliably cycle.

I've never had an ammo concern with a milspec, a loaded SS champion, a MC operator, a loaded, or a LW champion operator.

That's with HST, gold dots, ball, 200gr swc, and 255gr swc.

I typically use Wilson mags or chip McCormicks.
