[Last Edit: GreyBeardBiker]
I’ve known of this beautiful Nighthawk Classic how awhile. It sports the full (including barrel) DLC coating. I pulled the proverbial trigger on it today. It is a work of art, with the ball cuts, and fluted DLC coated barrel. Unfortunately the range was closed today for a class. But I completely disassembled it and swapped out the grips. The first picture is with the factory grips. This should definitely help make the wait for my Alchemy Prime Elite easier.

I like the traditional look of this pistol.

Retail is over $5K the way it’s set up. I got it for over $1K off. I know the now previous owner and he put 50 rounds through it. The DLC coating had a blemish and he sent it in for a complete refinish. You’d be hard pressed to find any sign it had ever been shot. And unlike the Alchemy Prime Elite I have on order, I did not have to wait six months for it.

Sweet! So will she be a safe queen, or are you going to shoot her?

Please shoot that baby, a lot.

I’m gonna shoot the snot out of it. And carry it periodically. My DW Valor will be my primary EDC as I think its finish will hold up better. And it’s no slouch either. Just not sure how the Nighthawk’s DLC will hold up to sweat and humidity.

Beautiful pistol, I like both sets of grips, but like the medallions more.

Alchemy is telling you 6 months? I have a little over 2 months to go on mine.

I spoke with Eli this morning. It had not been kitted yet, but I only ordered it three weeks ago.

When did you order yours?

I love the DLC finish. It even looks great on the blackened barrel. I do wonder how they will hold up against rust in the summer months with this coating.

ETA - Pictures do not do a polished DLC finish justice.

August 14, right before they announced their 2011 commander and railed commnder. Maybe they got a lot of orders for those.

Estimated completion date of 3 December.

Nice pistols Greybeard.  You have good taste.  Glad to see some are still carrying 1911’s.  I’m issued a .45 acp 1911 currently but carry a personally owned Staccato w/ RMR on duty.  I love the 1911/2011 platform.  It’s nice having the extra capacity on tap, but the 1911 single stack is hard to beat for conceal ability in a full size gun.

For purists, the Classic is arguably NHC’s finest.
