This was weird...I'm subscribed to this thread and couldnt find it in my subscriptions?
Anyway....
Theis holsters are very very similar to Crossbreed which are made here in Missouri, but Crossbreed did not make a light bearing holster for the P226. When I asked them if they had any plans to do so, I was told they were not going to. So I started looking around and found Theis. Turns out that Theis is less expensive than Crossbreed as well.
Domed phillips head bolt on bottom left is my fault... original backed out and was lost. I never contacted Theis to ask for a replacement, just ran to the hardware store and bought one. I've since loctited all remaining and the replacement bolt.
Theis makes two types of IWB hybrid holsters, one with rivets and one with bolts. Both of my light bearing holsters by Theis use bolts and have rubber grommets/bumpers that allow for the holster to adjust abit for the gun/light. The drawback to that is that the grommets/bumpers allow more lint into the gun than the rivet versions or Crossbreed (non light bearing holsters). Since I wear an undershirt, I get more lint into the gun than normal and instead of cleaning the gun once a month, (if it hasnt been shot), I need to clean it twice a month. Okay....minor hassle for having a IWB holster that can comfortably carry a P226 with TLR1 HL on it all day.
Here is a pic of the three Theis holsters I have. I honestly dont have a Sub 7 for the XL yet, as I almost always wear the 226 because it's so comfortable.
You can see the non light bearing holster has rivets instead of bumpers/grommets.
I really like these holsters.
