I have 2 Colt 45s.  First is a June 1942 production.  Knowledgeable folks over at 1911 Forum tell me that all the parts are correct for this weapon, including the "G" barrel.  Based on their advice, I have not put any rounds through it.  Has a C-L and a C-S magazine

Shipped June 23, 1942 in a shipment of 1,900 to Commanding General, Springfield Armory

Sure wish I knew more about it's history - who it was issued to, etc.

My 80's production Colt Barrel

I have put about 100 rounds through my 80's Colt.  On comparing the two barrels, it looks like the "G" barrel on my 1942 has barely had any rounds through it.

For fun.  Some pics of my June 1942 Colt.
