My grandson and I are getting ready (buying parts) to each build a 1911.

My question is - has anyone done a 1911 build using Fusion Firearms frames and slides? If so what was your experience with the
Fusion parts? Are they GTG?

ummm why dont you just buy a Taurus 1911 take it apart put it back together call it good.

I have a couple of fusion 1911s.  Now they make freedom series build kits that don’t require much, if any fitting, assemble and go. They seem well priced.

Because at the end of the day, no matter how many times he takes it apart and puts it back together, IT WILL STILL BE TRASH.

I have seen the kits but already had the slide from another project I was going to do and then my grandson came up with this idea of us each building one and he is interested in options the Freedom Series doesn't have.

Thanks, but if I was going to do that I would use the unfired Springfield GI model that I have not a Taurus.
