I own a P99 in .40.  It seems pretty reliable and shoots ok, but I'm selling it so I can buy a Sig.
Hope I'm not making a bad choice in selling it

Sigs are good guns obviously, you can't go wrong with one ( I'd still keep the P99 though)

True, I probably should keep the P99, but I've already comitted to selling it to the guy.  I suppose if I miss it enough I will end up with another.

The only way to replace an Interarms P99 is with another one, and good luck with that.

Every gun shop I go into I check out their P99s

In the last 4 years I've only ever seen one Interarms aside from mine and it was a 9mm.

I wouldnt trade my .40 P99 for the world.

I even owned it before Bond started using them, even though I get shit for being a poser all the time because of it.

I got really lucky and picked mine up from a good friend of mine who bought it new. He might have fired a couple hundred rounds through it.

Now after well over 6k rounds, it looks just like it did when I bought it.

The only problem I ever had was with the stupid slide stop holding the slide back for no reason once maybe every 100 rounds or so.

That doesn't sound like a serious flaw or anything....

Quite honestly from what I've heard from other people--this is usually caused when the shooter's thumb slides up the side and moves it up--just enough so that it causes a lock up.

As long as you keep your thumb where it's supposed to be this shouldn't be a problem.  So FastSS, watch that thumb placement. ;)

I have a Black/Black P99AS in .40 S&W. It is a great pistol. Every one of my friends that have shot it have fallen in love with it. I have about 1000 rounds through it with 0 problems.

It is a little large for me to carry all the time, so I usually only carry it during colder weather, with my Glock 29 as my primary carry.

I have a P22 as a plinker and a good little pistol that I used to teach my daughter to shoot. She loves it.

Log me in.

First post here at arfcom.  My p99 .40s&w black/black AS should be arriving to the dealer tomorrow.  Then waiting period (FL), also waiting on my CWL.

Went to the range and fired an SW99 in .40 and liked it, so I figured the Walther would be just that much better.  I've done a TON of research on this gun and came to the simple conclusion that it was for me.  Can't wait to take it out and give it a good run through, plus when the licence finally shows, I'll just be that much more happy.

My parents got me an OD .40 P99 for college graduation a few years back.  It's logged a lot of time as my carry gun.  I like it so much I had to get a black one in 9mm.

Another proud owner of a P99 in 9mm checking in....Since I'm a huge Bond fan I had to get it to keep my PPK/s with a 007 serial number company.....

Here are two of my P99 9mm's.  Both are Interarms imports.  One in QPQ finish, one in standard finish.  These photos make for a great desktop background for your computer.

I also got a OD Green P99 9mm first and then had to get a black P99 compact 9mm, they shoot great and I will probably have to get another one in 40 cal.

Just sold my Walther P99 AS in .40

It was built like a brickhouse, but sadly .40 isn't a caliber that I need, and I much rather prefer an Ta31 Acog

I have a Black on Black P99 with the laser sight.  I carry a Glock 23 but I am a Walther fan.  The feel, function and smoothness of the gun is unmatched by many others.

Have a P99 all black in a .40 cal. I would highly recommend a P99 to anyone. I looked at just about every other make of pistol but when I picked up the Walther it fit my hand perfectly. The pictures in Boggus Member's post on page 3 shows a nice thumb rest. I picked one up on Ebay and it sure helped with my grouping.

I didn't know it was the same gun as Bond's until some one said something about it at the range.

If they own a Glock, remind them that every actor or actress that plays a cop, FBI, ATF or DEA agent on tv seems to have a Glock in their hands.

Have fun with your Walther.

My well worn P99.

A truly superb handgun that has proven extremely reliable for me, and is a heck of a lot easier to shoot than a Glock.

I wouldn't mind replacing my G26 with a compact P99....

I have fired over 1000 rounds through my Walther without any problems. What a great gun.

Well here is my $0.02
there was a problem with the mag followers.... that should had been fixed with the introduction of the "blue followers" there is 2 different blue one out there........ this will explainit better
although the issue with the thumb pushing up the slide release is common too
