I picked-up this Colt Army Special in .32-20 today in a trade. It was made in 1919.

The finish is not much to write home about but it is very sound.

The Altamont faux ivory grips will be replaced by a set of repro OEM grips and a Tyler T-Grip I've been saving.

It's more or less just a Colt Official Police before they changed the name.

I'm sort of a sucker for .32-20 chambered guns. I have a Savage Sporter bolt action rifle, M1899 S&W, Colt Police Positive, and a S&W M&P in the caliber already.

I see what you mean, one of my Heisers has the same color female snap but this one is just marked F10 on the back and the snap is not stamped HH Heiser, Denver, CO.

That said I just looked at some pics of Heiser holsters and saw several that looked like the one that came with the Colt.

I suspect it's a Heiser holster made for a mail order company like Sears, Herters, or the like.

Very cool!

I have read about the .32-20 and it seems like a neat little cartridge.

I have been drooling over some of the Bowen conversions on K frame Smith and Wesson revolvers.

I also love the idea of having a Bisley Single Six in .327 magnum with an extra .32-20 cylinder.

S&W made .32-20 revolvers on the K-Frame for a very long time.

The bottom one is a 5" Model 1899 (made in 1899) in .32-20.

The top one is a M&P from the late 20s also in .32-20.

Very nice indeed. I also have a Colt Army Special in .38 special made in 1920. It's a neat addition to those who collect and shoot Colt's like me. I have a few now from 1905 to 2020 production years.
