Ive just watched some tank documentaries and such.

Got the itch to drive a M1A2 SEP4 or an advanced T90 and shoot some other dudes. nothing complicated. Kind of like BF3


i know WoT is F2P but is there a way to pay $30 and get the real tank or tanks? or something. i have no desire to grind or get good at the game. im not a 14 year old thinking im gonna go pro or brag to my friends at the lunch table.


the fucking UI is so complicated and i swear the thing is designed as a casino. complicated as possible trying to get you a dopamine cycle of risk/reward.

Nope, not any modern tanks present.  Mostly ww2 based but some from before and some from after.  M60 is the most modern “real” tank I believe.  Lots and lots of prototype tanks and tank destroyers that only existed on paper.  

Is a fun game but in higher tiers, it is pretty frustrating at times as the battles can be one sided.  Ends up being more of a nuanced arcade game, relying on skill, patience but mostly RNG luck.  

You can pay 30 bucks but that will not get you very much at all in the scheme of the paid part, to buy “premium” tanks.  It’s not really pay to win but rather pay to get the latest Flavor Of the month new tank.  

Worth trying, there is a large player base, can be very satisfying when you pull out win against the odds.

is there a game where you can drive a modern tank?

As in a similar game?   War Thunder goes up to the M1A2 and similar.   A bit different play style but has a wider variety of vehicles.  Downside is going to be the grind in any type of game like this.

Maybe Gunner, Heat, PC?  I'm just downloading the demo right now so I haven't played it yet, but I know it has at least some model of the M-1 and the T-72.

Yeah I was thinking WarThunder would have those, but tech line tanks you'd have to grind out. There's some premiums you can buy but they don't represent everything, they might not be the tanks you want.
