So i set up pihole on a hyper v vm and everything seems fine, I was able to install pihole and update it, i can ssh into it and from there i can ping inside and outside of my network and i can ping the vm from one of my computers.  What i cant do is get to the admin page so i can configure it anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong?

Random guess: The OS running in the VM has a firewall enabled?

pihole doesn't need to eat a VM, it can run just fine in a Docker container.

Agreed. My primary pi-hole runs on a RPi 4 2GB, which is overkill. Previously, I ran it in a Docker instance on my QNAP. Worked fine.

Mine runs in Docker on a Synology NAS.  No issues.
