A black (sorry to play identity politics) senior petty officer AT3 Greer back in '92 told me, "Man, the stones got SOUL". You know?, Eric Greer wasn't wrong.
kinda like The Rolling Stones now, even though a lot of their popular stuff is and was over-played. I like the Stones but they are sloppy musicians. The Standells covers of several of their songs are much better.

Never hated them. Never listened to them. More of I just don't care.

Good band. Always liked their music. Some of their albums were recorded in Alabama.

Never hated them, never loved them. Some good songs but mostly "you have to love them because they've hung around for 80 years".
|
|
I used to hate them also except for Give Me Shelter. I don't care who you are, that's a great song. I had a Pink Floyd pandora channel that I used to listen to over night and it kept playing the Stones and the Who, two bands I despised. They really grew on me after a while.
I have not delved much deeper than radio songs though. |

Always liked them for the most part. They put on a good live show, or at least used to. They are quite old you know.

I think Mick Taylor still hates the Stones, lol.

One of my favorite bands. Great lyrics and the rhythm and timing is so fluid.

I was never a fan when younger. As I get older, the more I appreciate their music.

Recently I've heard more of their early bluesy stuff. I need to listen to it some more and get more familiar with it. In general I like the Stones.

Many years ago, I was living up north for months at a time building cabins. It was just me and a native buddy helping me during the week. Dave came on the weekends to help. I only brought about 10 cd's with me, and they got old fast. There were no radio stations to speak of. I asked Dave if he could bring me some cd's to listen to the next weekend.
Well, he did. The next weekend he brought me a paper shopping bag stuffed full of cd's, and every single one of them was the stones. Seriously... A full shopping bag of nothing but the stones. I knew Dave was a stones fan, but holy shit, dude... I already liked their music, but I liked them more the more I listened to them, and I listened to them A LOT for many weeks. Thanks to goofy Dave, I'll always be a stones fan. |

Not a Stone's fan. Never was really.
Don't own any of their music and rarely would I add anything to any sort of playlist from them. That being said, as I've gotten older I'm coming to appreciate what made them great. They're......"cool". They're music is laid back, cool. Smooth, groovy. Can't you hear me knockin is one of my favorite riffs of all time. The first minute of that song is just fucking 'cool'. You can almost see them just jammin, drinking, smoking, and making rock music. |

The Stones were good but they owe most of their act to R&B and soul groups. They haven't had a good album since Tattoo You.

I really like some of their songs, but the rest is very meh to me.
|
|
Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street pretty much were their best albums, imo.
