I always thought Trump would resign and then have Pence pardon him. After last Wed., I think Pence might have a problem with this.

Don't pardons require a conviction first?
The dems would have him hung for treason if they thought they could get away with it. The next four years will be a constant stream of new investigations and charges against him. They need to make sure nobody wants to put their hat in the ring for 2024 Not coincidently, Michigan's AG announced criminal charges on Rick Snyder, our former governor, today. He was arranged for "derilection of duty in office" for his role in the Flint water crisis. They waited until now so that the trial will be in full swing during the run up to the midterm elections - including our gubernatorial election. AG has also said more charges are likely. I'm no Snyder fan. He's a slimy RINO and screwed us on constitutional carry. But the blame for Flint's water problems lies squarely with Flint. |

Should criminal prosecution at some point in the future be directed against Donald Trump based on his Presidential tenure; you can bet your sweet ass seating President is going to auto-pardon that preceding President faster than you will believe.
But I don't think it will actually happen either way. I do think Trump is going to find himself subject to a lot of harassment once he's private-citizen Donald, but I guess we'll see. |
