It’s really useful, and way better than shouting “hey” or “yo” or something.

I prefer Uff da!!
ETA: Actually, 'hey dipshit' or 'hey dumbass' work better. |

Heard a Brit use it once. That was enough for me.
Fuka works really well though |

I use it trying to yell outdoors to people far away. It seems to travel well

Just say, "Hey, fucker."
Much more poetic and sophisticated. Best, JBR |

View Quote what was the name of that show on HBO back about 8-years ago? the goofy Aussie comedian that acted out the different skits. IIRC it was the “surfer guy” character and he always said “Oi!!!” and then somewhere in there he would always throw in the “oi-oi-oi!!” i still shout “oi!!” at my s/o every single day when i get home from work. edit this show: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pZNTKCwySX4 https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3WzEhEgo7Vc https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angry_Boys that guy: chris lilley https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Lilley_ i find his shows to be very amusing & entertaining |

The same reason we say "uh" instead of "etto". This might surprise you but different cultures have different patterns of speech.

It's not more popular because most Americans prefer to speak english and it sounds weird to hear foreign words come out of your mouth.

You need well-developed cock sucking muscles to make long "O" sounds as loud as the Brits do.
