I used to like them. After living next to a German Shepherd breeder I'll never own one.
Besides, Doberman master race. Attached File |

I have 2. They left us a pile of shit all over the living room floor today when I came home. Rare occasion but does anyone want 2 GSD’s? |

I don't need a Neurotic house-eating eating fur missile... I have Murphy, the coolest Great Pyrenees ever. He's a couch potato, but if you come near his house and he's not familiar with you, you will lose a limb. He's pretty quick too, scared the hell out of the Amazon guy the other day. He has also taken out a couple of coyotes, solo.

After spending some time around my daughters 1 year old GSD when I dog-sat for a week.... You're not wrong.

I used to treat lawn, neighbor's kid was out with their GSD, MFer ran and managed to bite me in the ass. Fuck that dog, I'm sure there are better trained ones.

Apartment living, and work schedule was not conducive to having a dog.
So we got cats. We still have the cats. I have a yard now, but I’m still working long hours. It’s just not fair to the dog. |

After 6 years you get to watch it die over the next 2 years. Super fun.

1. Because I dont have time to raise another child.
2. Because it wouldnt be fair to leave him home alone for most of the day. 3. Because I don't like the amount of shedding fur. 4. Because it broke my heart to have to put down our last 3 dogs. I'm not going through that again. |

My GSD Sasha died 4 years ago. My wife bought me two Morkies. I love them like crazy. Good dogs
great companions. That's why I don't have a GSD right now. But you never know ? |

I do have a GSD. I love them. I sleep a lot better at knowing my 80lb furry ball of anger curled up next to me will wake me up if anyone is trying to get in my house. Also they're great athletes, can hike for days and even carry some of my stuff, and super smart.

Always wanted one as a kid. Got a rescue Tamaskan last August instead. He’s 40% Husky and 32% German Shepard. The rest is a mix of other primitive breeds.
He is absolutely fantastic. Super friendly outside but but protective of the house from anyone approaching to closely. He’ll tailor his level of playfulness to other dogs. Example, will roughhouse with large dogs who play aggressively but is gentle as can be with shy dogs and smaller breeds. People are constantly impressed with his patience. He’s also extremely aware of his distant surroundings compared to most breeds I see at parks. I know about half a dozen Shepard’s personally. Most are good dogs. But after being able to compare their behaviors to this guy, I actually don’t think I’d ever go out of my way to own a full blood German Shepard anymore. Attached File |

I have 5. 4 rescues and 1 from Austria via the RCMP and then to Denver. Grimm is a magnificent dog. Often I look at him and weep at the luck I had in getting him. He wasn’t cheap but was worth every penny.

Our long haired GSD from the Czech Republic sits on the wife like that every now and again. The missus has been gone on and off for a year working covid nursing. The 2 GSD's are stuck to her like glue since she got home last week to take a break for a month. They follow her everywhere. One tries to get in the shower with her. The other sits with her in the bathroom. |

I have one and honestly don't think I would get another one. He is such a great dog that no other GSD will ever match up with him. Just over 3 years old now and hopefully lives a lot more years. Next one will probably be a Mastiff or Great Dane.
