Is there some reason graphics cards still use DVI ports? Why has DVI not been completely replaced by DisplayPort?

Plenty of people still have working monitors that use DVI. Some of those are expensive professional monitors.

Because its still used by millions of people?  Just a guess....

If you buy a yesteryear-tier card, expect yesteryear interfaces.

Radeon RX 5700 XT card I got last year only had HDMI and DisplayPort. I would expect the newly released RX 5600 family and NVidia’s newest 20XX “super” lineup to also only have HDMI and DisplayPort.

Cheap graphics cards do because people buying them often have old displays to connect.

For example, some 2060 have DVI, a few 2070 do. I'm not aware that any 2070ti or any 2080 variants do.

If you want people to buy your expensive new GPU, it helps to support the monitor that they have sitting on their desk.

Modern cards can greatly outpace even the theoretical maximums of DVI. It makes zero sense to for a user to plug a 5700XT/2060/2070/2080 into a monitor through a connection that only does 1080p/120Hz or 1200p/120Hz or 1600p/60Hz. Even the “cheap” $350 plain RX5700 will run some modern games 1080p @ 200+ FPS

anything over 60fps is really only gaming

30fps is pretty standard for video

It looks like the ASUS 5600 XT cards have three DisplayPort and one HDMI port. As scared of AMD drivers as I am, I'm going to pull the trigger on one of those...in several months...after this VBIOS stupidity is behind us.

Stay away from AMD video cards. Friends don't let friends buy AMD graphics.
AMD Processors on the other hand. Awesome.

DVI > HDMI

I don't know enough about display port to form an opinion, other than it is slightly annoying that when I turn my monitor off, the computer recognizes it as disconnecting it entirely.

Same reason USB2 ports still exist.  Large installed base of hardware that uses it.

The top tier stuff usually supports only the latest and greatest, however i can see why  an OEM would make cards that support older formats.  VGA cable driven displays are slowly being replaced.

I'm not getting rid of my 30" Dell 3007WFPHC until it dies. At 2560x1600 it gives me a lot of real estate.
That one and my Apple 27" Thunderbolt at 2560x1440 on another Mac are the best that those computers will support.
I'd daisy chain 2 Thunderbolts if I had more room on my computer cart.
I don't game and videos play good enough for me. I can live with 2k displays.

DVI is a perfectly good port that has tons of existing monitors it will hook up to. Almost every office has DVI monitors. DVI can be adapted with a cheap passive adapter to VGA, which gives you even more older monitors.
