Do you have a cargo trailer brand you would recommend? I am beginning to look and so far have only checked out the LOOK brand in person. I am looking at the aluminum skinned ones, any thoughts on screwed vs. screwless.  A 7 X 16 -18 is the size I am wanting. I realize there are hundreds of small trailer manufacturers.

I've never seen a PJ enclosed trailer, and I live within 10 mins of their factory...

Because they don't make them

They all seem to be made in someplace in Georgia under a bunch of different brand names.

Unless you get a all aluminum one they are all pretty cheap.

Make sure whatever your putting in there isn’t too heavy on the doors that’s what seems to go first

So American Trailer Works, who owns a few cargo trailer companies.

None of the cargo trailers are made by PJ trailers.

What's your point?

So wait, is Aluma a American Trailer Works brand?

Now we are on a completely different company.

1st....look for any manufacturers in your area...there should be a distributor with a lot close by if there is a manufacturer nearby.

2nd....expand that search to a few hundred miles.

3rd....go to a  local trailer sales yard, and see which one has the most features, best construction, and cargo weight capacity for the size you are looking for.
Then it's a matter of finding the best price, or work a deal with the sales yard.

I have 2 from Interstate brand trailer that are 10 years old....one is was a 12 foot (barn-doors rear/side door), the other was  20ft. (rear ramp/side door)
They are considered a lower price-point...but served me well for what I used them for.

I guarantee I've owned more trailers than the other poster who seems to want to be cool by just posting random brands.

My advice is buy 16" OC floors, 16" OC walls.

Marine grade plywood walls and floors if possible, but at the least actual plywood

Roof should be one pc aluminum, with over wrap on the sides for water intrusion prevention

1 foot additional height if wanting to haul tall side by sides or such

RV side door with cargo bar supplement lock

Fan or AC prep in roof with crank open vent for now

Solid construction gate, with widest opening possibile

All led lights

Interior lights

Extended tongue for easy parking and tailgate room. Can also double as generator mount point

I can go on

Concur.

11k on this one.

Very nice trailer, but completely the opposite of what the OP asked about.

PJ, as I said, doesn't build enclosed trailers

I agree with several of these points.  Some may or may not be right for you (A/C, interior lights).  But construction is key.  Talk to the dealers.  If the won’t talk to you about the specs and construction of a brand, move on.

One other thing to consider is the weight of what your hauling.  Brakes, axels and tires are significantly more important with added weight.

The Aluma factories are within driving distance of me and I've heard more than one employee say the quality isn't what it used to be.

I've got a 2001 Haulmark 7x12 enclosed.  Bought it used 10 years ago, has held up remarkably well despite being outdoors 90% of the time.  Completely happy with it.  Other than replacing the occasional missing screw, I haven't had to do anything to it.  I did convert all the lights to LED, so all together they draw less than 1 amp.

Grease the bearings, replaced the tires, new tongue jack, but the body is still in great shape, and still watertight.

cargo trailer did not register to me as enclosed cargo trailer.  Op mentioned skins, which means one has to actually read the entire post.

Fuck me for trying to help.  Find your enclosed cargo trailer on your own.

Maybe find a fucking trailer fucking forum or something. This is a gun forum.

... Or just read the OP and respond with something of value, or say to yourself, hey I don't know much about this and choose not to post anything.

It's a pretty simple process
