Just asking for a friend who's been on the fence for a while.

IMHO, bump stocks are a novelty. Something to have fun with at the range. Nothing I'd want on a rifle for anything serious.
I would include fully automatic weapons in with novelty and range toy.
None. I can't afford to waste mag dumps of ammo/burn out Colt barrels.
Ill go be poor in my bunk. |
None, all retailer's are going to be sold out of them for months and I sure as hell am not paying $600+ for something that is just a toy.
Guess I need to buy some extra shoe strings before they're banned
They all work the same, I have one from Bump Fire Systems, many have Slide Fire Systems and there is a couple of others out there, also if you know what you are doing they are not all that difficult to build in the home shop.
As far as novelty, if you practice a bit with them, you can actually concentrate fire in a 2 foot by 2 foot target area at 75 yards with them, but they are expensive to run if you are just doing mag dumps, it don't take long to go through a 100 round drum, a 30 round magazine is gone very quickly, figure if you are paying $.25 cents a round that is $7.50 in about 10 seconds you are going through! |

They’re useless enough to me that I’d never pay more than $50 for one even in a perfect world.
With the threat of a grandfatherless ban looming, I wouldn’t even buy one for $5. |
There was a thread here a while back showing how to make one with a magpul stock. They also say you can shoot them with greater accuracy using a bipod and shooting prone. Then there is the shoestring, piece of wood or belt loop method. How can they ban an idea that's already out of the bag?
One I could buy FTF for cash from someone that doesn't know me. PERSEC
BTW I never wanted one until they didn't want me to have one. Anything liberals hate is good by me. |

If bump fire stocks were deemed to be machine guns along with the legal penalties of owning an illegal machine gun...........?
I bet you see where I'm going here. |
Hope those motherfuckers at Justice are pulling their hair out this morning trying to imagine how you could possibly word a reg banning "bump stocks".
Any thumbhole stock can easily be turned into a bumpfire stock.
Carbine stocks and regular pistol grips are only slightly more difficult. |
No, they're gay and stupid. Doesn't mean I want them regulated or banned though,
Gunna suck if possession is ruled illegal and you gotta throw away your new bump stock that you paid at an inflated priced
For me, the name of the game is controlled accurate fire. Not how much of my hard earned money can I spray the countryside with. Rounds burn up dollars pretty fast and bump stocks just help you do it faster. I think a ban is a stupid idea since the wording is going to basically make a lot of things such as bungee cords illegal too. But it is for the children
None. They've never interested me. I don't want to see them banned but if they are I still won't get one.

Speaking of retards, there's always one that mentions the Akins Accelerator. Akins changed the design and added a spring, which was the reason the ATF reversed the decision. Learn facts before typing things that you cleary don't grasp.

I have a slide fire I'll part with for $50,000 and a Bumpfire systems one for $35,000.

So they just made them illegal to even possess in Denver. Whats the statute that makes that illegal? I cant remember it but it had something to do with an possession which was previously legal to own is now illegal and how that isnt allowed to happen...

Fostech makes the most durable ones. Made of aluminum but they are not cheap. I have one on an rpk, get 500rpm and accurately from the bipod but took many hours with a file to make fit in the thicker receiver. Iv blew through a case of ammo with it over a 6month period. Took it off the day before the las vegas shooting in favor of wood. But i dont want to get rid of it.

Never had any interest in them, so none would be my answer. I didn't like the way they functioned, it was very awkward, kind of like operating a bicycle pump off the ground.

Time to get one was a few months ago
No need to buy one at inflated prices just build your own. Best way to do it so you are not on some random list if they are banned. |
What's amusing is declaring bumpstocks machineguns may force them to declare an amnesty & open the registry - @ which point every semi-auto owner in the country would happily register every semi-auto receiver we own, and drill the 3rd of happiness after we got the stamps back after the 5 year backlog.
