Looking for bags of 2 row and maris otter and can't seem to find  a decent price that isn't killed by shipping.

Where do you all order from?

Try finding a home brew club to do a group order, or get to know any local breweries that might work with you.

I buy from one of two local shops in Ohio and pick up on site.

Try Morebeer, I think they have free shipping on orders over $59.

Free shipping must not apply for grain. They want $120 to ship 3 bags.

Ah, sorry about that. I only order small amounts of specialty grains and hops from them. I don't recall paying shipping on the smaller amounts mixed in with other stuff, but I could be mistaken about that too.

Anyway, no brew shops within reasonable driving distance?

I go to them for small specialties, but they want over   $2/lb. For 2 row.

Used to be able to find 50lb bags for $50-65 shipped, all over the place. I know shipping prices have gone up the last year so that's probably the reason.

If you try to order a full 55# sack they will charge you for shipping.  Shipping a 55# sack is ridiculously expensive.  Here's  the best work around I can find.  Order multiple 10# sacks.  They will ship them all for free.  I routinely order 6 to 10 ten pound sacks.  Prices does go up from about $.70 cents a pound to around $1.10.  So I pay $66 for 60# delivered.  Not ideal but the best I've found.

Found a local shop at $68 for a 55lb sack. That's not too bad.
