My old humidor doesn't keep moisture very well and I don't smoke as much as I used to but was looking for a small one.

About 19 years ago when I bought my current one, the whoosh test was the way to tell quality. You lift the lid to 30 degrees and drop it. If it clanks, it's crap, if it makes a gently whoosh, it's well built. You can't really do this on line. Plus I'm not sure I trust Amazon reviewers. Any brands I can rely on?

I have really enjoyed the Xikar travel humidors. I have a few small ones and a large one that will hold 60.

They come in all sizes

After years of searching ive yet to find one myself.  I went the cooler-dor route.  Use a brand new cooler and dont look back.

Igloodor or tupperdor would be my inexpensive choices.  As long as they’re airtight, they’re good.  Grab some Spanish cedar from a cigar store or from the wood working store and put them in there.  Good to go.

And be done with it. Basically set it and forget it if you change the pack yearly

I had 2 nice humidor that I sent to goodwill. A Sistema gasketed plastic box and a Boveda pack does better than either of the nice ones ever did.

Yup.  I have several of those and definitely favor them over the Systema boxes for everything except capacity.  I think my current Boveda packs are past the two year mark at this point.

I got a couple of those waterproof camping boxes (plastic) with the seal and clasps (watertight). They work pretty well but seem to hold a tad more humidity than the packs (boveda) state.
They are just small ones like linked in the quoted post.

A Tupperdor is the clear answer for inexpensive and low maintenance...and you can get as fancy as you want with one.  That's the route I took many years ago after getting frustrated with wood humidors, especially in colder climates.  That said, I find that as I have gotten older, I like the idea of maintaining a wood humidor.  I now have small one in my office with a glass panel in the lid and can monitor it without opening it.  Yeah, it's like having a small child you have to watch, but it's a zen thing for me.  It's like a Tamagotchi,, for grown ups.

Tupperdors are the way to go for cost effective and maintenance free bulk storage.

I have a similar setup downstairs, too.

I hear you.... it's a PITA to maintain but it's a nice part of my office decor.

Funny how when I'm on a conference call my background is basically booze and tobacco.

Boveda humidor bag is $15 and stores up to 50 cigars and comes with a Boveda pack in it. If you need something quick until you get something else and/or for overflow at times.

Not sure what that is translated to Canadian.
