I think i like him better than Edd and certainly better than the 2nd guy. For those Edd fans, he has a YouTube channel he puts some effort into. Edd on youtube |

I won't watch it without Edd. So I watch old episodes. The Ant guy was knee deep in the fake. Maybe just for a paycheck. But not a fan of the manufactured crap.

The current shows are all about saving the last of the interesting petrol powered cars before the UK 2030 ban on sales of ICE vehicles. Good luck with that.

Stopped watching it when I dropped cable in 2018. Good thing too, since that's what when they came to Southern CA and it went to shit since then. It because one of the typical US car shows. Just a 30 minute advertisement for sponsors, plus the typical US manufactured drama that's ever present on US television.
I watch his YT channel which is similar to the old episodes. Paul is also on many of the videos. |

i liked the ed chyna version because a good bit of the show was on what the mechanic did. apparently they wanted less tech and more drama.
one show i like, and see from time to time is engine masters where they try different things on motors to see where power can be added. |

3rd guy started last season.
They all have skills but Edd was the most personable. He got pretty grumpy by the end though. I liked Ant better than new guy. |

If I'm not mistaken Edd even said that they wanted him to do more fluff tv crap and he just wanted to wrench on cars and show what he was doing. Creative differences if you will

The replacement for Edd was with the Flip or Flop lady for a minute and had a kid with her, but headed back to England because he was tired of her BS.

I use to watch it when Ed was the mechanic. I thought it was an interesting show because it focused on the actual work to fix up the cars for sale. Many of the car shows are merely soap operas that take place in auto shops.

Ed was great
Ant was good New guy sucks Brewer was good but now sucks the American producers suck and the English ones suck even more for letting the show go to shit.. Fuck them. That is how Top Gear got fucked. The producer that outed the guys in Argentina deserved that punch from Jeremy. |

I ran into Ant at Oshkosh, at a small get together.
He's a nice guy and has a lot of talent. He built a replica of a 1950's Alfa Romeo F1 car, so he's not some studio hack. But I do like the first seasons, which I am watching on Prime. This show started out the way This Old House did, with things the average mechanic could do. It's still neat to see the British cars that we rarely, if ever see. |
