tlr-1 on pistol
arisaka 600 on the looooooooooong arm

I wouldn't call it operating though

When you fancy operators operate do you sing opera with Oprah in an operating theater?

Streamlight 88066 Pro Tac Rail Mount HL-X
I have the above streamlight on at least 5 carbines.

I've used both of the following mounts on mlok or keymod handguards.  My handguards are kind of narrow however.
Magpul M-LOK Extended Cantilever Scout Mount, Black
Arisaka Offset Scout Mount - Low Profile Surefire Flashlight/Tactical Light Mount for MLok

Streamlight TLR-1 on pistols, Surefire M600 Ultra Scout on my SBR.

I would like a 600V at some point, I suppose, but the white output is less than desirable. I have a 300V knock off on my helmet now for illumination so between that and my IR laser I’m decently set for ability to make a hit in the dark.

Modlite ftw if you have the money. This is an old pic, swapped the surefire switch for a mod button later. My brother runs a streamlight on his duty rifle and loves it, I don't have the weapon version but my streamlight handheld is basically the same thing and it's awesome.

Eta: I'm using an Arisaka inline M-Lok mount, it's solid

Streamlight.   On all the things.

Streamlight RM2 for rifles.

Various streamlight for pistol based on size of gun. My full size Guns have TLR2

Surefire G2X tactical on IWC Mount-N-Slot

Surefire G2X tactical on Odin Works Mlok Mount

Edit:  Both are 600 lumen and both setups with mount cost about $100 a piece at the time.

Real operators only use the latest in technology from surefire. Now, with LED, boasting an impressive 350 lumens! Yours, for only $500!
Link Posted: 10/12/2021 2:00:04 AM EDT
It says Surefire on the side.  Bought it from DSG a year ago.  It's like 15 billion lumens.  But I don't own any guns to put it on.

G2X tactical as well. Viking Tactics mount for me.
Old pic. I've swapped sides for thumb over top. Can get more later, but my rifles all get the same.

A Streamlight something or other, I dunno. Looks like a regular flashlight kinda, but with a built-in mount.

I’m no operator but I like the profile and ergonomics of these InForce WML’s.
800 lumens will illuminate my back yard and anything in my house.

Back when I still had long guns ( had to sell them all to buy a new refrigerator and food) I standardized to these. Just have a Biden approved double barrel shotgun now.
I probably wouldn’t take them afield in an infantry role but I’m never going to do that at this late stage of life.

More pics of G2X Tactical in vtac mounts.
Killer budget combo, no need to worry about failing tape switches. Only downside is if you have short arms. Both are mounted on 10 inch rails.

Tape a maglite to the barrel, works for the navy seals it should work for us.

Pistol TLR7A.

Plenty bright, and it's small enough that you can still get a fairly normal carry holster for it.

They're good for light (pun ha ha) usage.  But the screw that holds them on will come undone with enough movement across gear, and then you won't have a weapon light anymore.  If you have to mount and dismount them, they're good for that, but unless you locktite them or 550 cord them to the rifle, you might lose them if you're running around with them afield.

They're not the best, but for the price and ability to move them between rifles, they do the job pretty well.

Rein

Just got my Cloud Rein Moonshine.  Put it on an Arisaka long mount.

I don't have any experience with other high end lights but the throw on this thing is amazing.  Control pad is slick with the wire routing underneath and the ability to clock the tailcap.

Edited to add:  not an operator

I still operate operationally with a Surefire.

It fills the bill for operationalizing my operations, operationally.

I guess I am a Fudd.

I'll go sit in the Boomer corner now.

Solid performing products, reasonably priced (relative) GREAT customer service.

Arisaka 300 on an inline mount on the left hand 45 degree mlok. Easy to activate with my thumb, light, bright enough for me, and damned handsome.

I have a modlite plhv2 18350 on my SBR and a Cloud Rein that I haven't gotten mounted yet.

I like them both (from a beam standpoint on the rein.  Obviously not tested on my own firearms yet).

I remember a thread about those and want one.

Worth it as a novelty?  Planet obliterating brightness and throw?

Modlite or surefire
Link Posted: 10/12/2021 7:41:46 AM EDT
Stream light HLX if on a budget.

Cloud owl if no IR illuminator/laser

Cloud rein if integration with IR illuminator /laser needed.

A lot of people are still using surefire due to procurement processes but many units / teams and operators are switching over to cloud as time goes by.

Either a Surefire mini scout or 600v on my serious guns. I had a WML I liked but it developed battery drain issues.
