It made people think, question, look into things and realize that there were other like minded people out there. Then it seemed to morph into wild conspiracy theories. Some with grains of truth, others just beyond outlandish. As it got weirder and weirder, so did the followers. That said, look at what has happened over the last year or so. Tell me if I went back to December 2019 and wrote about the great plague, millions of citizens being basically locked in their homes, a stolen election, the Capitol being stormed and DC being an armed compound ahead of the swearing in of the guy who got the most votes in history without ever campaigning, that you wouldn't think I was utterly batshit too. |
