Probably so the Secret Service guys would know if an infiltrator got in with a phony one made up from internets photos. Excellent tactics. |

Having worked protection details before, often you have different lapel pins for different days to identify friendlies. If you only have one variant of lapel pin, it’s easy for a bad guy to duplicate that pin and pretend to be part of the detail.
Not saying that’s what’s happening here, but it’s a strong possibility. |

It is a specific ID pin issued to POS during the inauguration. It is a way for LE to ID each other. They're made specifically for the event and then thrown away to never be used again.

View Quote View All Quotes View All Quotes Quoted: Quoted: Appears to be the same one these guys are wearing https://i.insider.com/5faec0d01c741f0019ac9ace?width=1136&format=jpeg Yep at first I posted a Russian star with a Black Power fist in the middle that looked hilariously similar to the pin in OP's photo. You got me. It was definitely because he's Asian that my mind immediately associated him with the USSR and BLM. Had nothing to do with me conducting a Google image search and selecting the first photo that looked like a half ass match. Stupid me investing another 15 minutes sifting through Google images until I found a correct match for the actual pin to replace the dumb pic I posted first, right. |

Sewing an N95 filter media into one of those ad hoc masks defeats the purpose of using N95 filter media because of excess perimeter leakage - the higher pressure drop of the N95 media forces more flow to the perimeter of the mask for a given motive pressure. |

It's a usss lapel pin. It shows that your part of an agency that supports the White House. There are several different agency's that have them . It makes it easier to get there check points without having to show your Id or badge.
Each pin has a serial number. I have one for the agency that I'm assigned to. |

I'm a GOP county chairman and worked a few events with the Secret Service last year; the field detail officers wear matching pins for easy identification. They issue different pins to volunteers who drive in the motorcade or help with VIP escort. Many of supporting local units do something similar - the Ohio Attorney General has plainclothes officers who serve as personal protection officers, and they have their own pins, etc. I really feel for the those guys - I spent about five hours shooting the shit with one of them when the President was coming for an event, and he had many hours on his feet to come. |

So you're defending the use of 2 masks rather than admitting what most of us know to be true, that masks are 100% fucking worthless against a sickness with a 99.6% survival rate. How about 3 masks, or 4? Maybe Biden just smells bad. |
