7.5" with tight tape around my wrist. I like 44mm watches and 48mm lug to lug the best. I tried on a Seiko Samurai yesterday and it felt like perfection. If it was the nicer "King" version with sapphire and ceramic bezel, I would've went home with it. They didn't have an Alpinist but I tried on a Seiko 5 that the guy said was the same size and it looked small.

7 1/2.      44 is sweet spot.  Can go much larger (tuna) without lugs.   Thickness also matters.    Wear my panerai 233 most.  Then 372.    Then AP which is only 42mm, but thick and broad lugs.   So wears like 44-45.

I wore a Seiko Black Monster for a while. It always felt like I had a hammer head on my wrist and that I would either break something or the watch.  It went through pins quickly, so it was a heavy bitch. I sold it.

Various G-shocks are better because they are light enough to go unnoticed. I would get about two years out of a DW 5600E 45mm or similar. I wore them for decades and the one I like the most is the cheap G-shock with hands that costs $12. 38mm.

I haven't worn a watch in 15 years now, except for one flight OCONUS and it was that cheap one.

Cheers!

I actually love my Citizen Eco-Drive diver. I beat it to death and it keeps going. Thinking about the solar Seiko Tuna as another. Trying to convince my wallet anyway. I just wish Citizen or Seiko would make some higher end watches with sapphire and ceramic.

6.25"-6.5" wrists. Nearly all of my watches are between 38mm and 40mm case sizes. Lug to lug makes the biggest difference and I can wear up to about 49mm comfortably with my flat wrist.

My SKX009 is my biggest mechanical watch but it wears relatively small due to its short lug to lug width.

I have a Garmin Fenix 3 which is an absolute brick on my wrist. Its like wearing a dive computer. It barely fits under the sleeve of my ACU so I usually only wear it for running or if I need the GPS capability in the field.

I have no idea how fat my wrist is.

But I like a 43-44 case width.

I'm at 7-1/4" wrist. A 41 or 42mm is perfect for me.

6.75" ish depending temps, and I switch between left and right wrists often.

I care more about lug to lug than diameter; I prefer something 48mm L2L or less.  Seiko's new Turtle is about perfect (47mm Lug to lug, 43mm diameter), although my 6309 diver is even better (shorter lug to lug and slightly bigger diameter).

I also have another piece with 52mm lug to lug, and it still works because the lugs slope down.  It really boils down to preference...

Ha! I didn't either until I started watching a bunch of watch comparison videos where they always seem to mention their wrist size. I guess it gives a good point of reference. I dug through my wife's sewing kit and found a cloth tape measure and was very surprised at the size of my wrist.

6 3/4 wrist.  I will wear 36 to 44.  Sweet spot is 40 to 41.  The watch that fits the best for me is the Sinn 856 at 40mm.

I have never measured my wrists, but handcuffs fit on just the first click.

If I wore a bigger watch than the Monster, I would hit it on everything.  The standard Costco Invicta Pro Diver is perfect for me. 40mm

I’m around 7.5” wrist. I own watches from 36 mm up to 46 mm. All of my bigger watches are Casio’s G-Shocks and a ProTek. My sweet spot is generally 38-42 mm. Over the years I’ve found that I prefer slightly smaller watches so I’ve sold off most of the 42 mm plus ones.

6.5. I prefer to wear 34-36. I wore full sized Black Bays, a 16710 GMT, and FS Speedy for years, and only kind of miss the GMT. Thinner cases make larger diameter pieces wearable on small wrists like mine, but they're still a bit much for me. In my early days, I wore a Sinn 103. I was too amateur to realize how dumb it looked on me. It was like wearing a skyscraper... Beautiful watch nonetheless.

ETA: All of that said, I still want to check out one of the new Black Bay Chronos. Even though I know I'll be disappointed the minute I throw it on.

My wrist in a bit over 8". My old Tag Heuer Formula 1 looks like I took it from my kid. My Omega at 41mm looks a little small. My Marathon JDD at 46mm looks right, but it's a thick, heavy bitch.

Measured my watch strap from buckle to the hole I usually use - 7-7/8”

I’ve usually worn a 40mm. It looked right, and the 44mm Panerai looked huge.

Now that I’ve worn it for a few months, the 44mm looks right, and going back looks weird.

My wrist is about 7.5". For a long time I wore a 45mm watch, it was huge, but I liked it, and I used to look at 40mm watches as tiny. Sent it in for service and borrowed a 40mm from a friend, got used to the size after a week and realized I had been wearing a watch that was way too big, tried wearing it when it came back and just hated the size. I  think 42mm would be goldilocks though. I agree with the comments about the lugs mattering even more.

7 and 5/16" without being tight.

Seiko Samurai or Turtle are as big as can I go without looking silly.

40mm Scurfa feels somewhere between "1mm too small" and "just right."

I've got skinny wrists, about 6.5" - 6.75". My main watch is 41mm, but this Gallet chronograph is 36mm and wears nicely.

I have a 7 1/2" wrist and I think 41-42 is perfect. I have a 44 that works, but is definitely pushing it.

It's all good bud. Here I'll revive it with my new Dark Manta Ray Samurai. Pics don't nearly do it justice and the pine pollen blowing in everywhere didn't help things. Anyway, it's 44mm and 48 length I believe. I wear mine close to my hand because my arm pushes it there and it ends up there anyway.

8.25" wrist, and I have big hands.  45mm is my preferred size.  My largest is 47mm and that is fine.  My smallest is 41mm and that is almost too small.  Anything smaller looks ridiculous on me.

Swinging hammers and digging holes for many years will do that.  Its also in my genes.  My dad is the same.  We almost can never use the original watch strap.  We just get a NATO.  Its easier.

Just under 8.5 inches. I always have to factor in a new strap or extra links.

The biggest watch I have is 42mm. I've got a couple of 38mm I bought years ago, but I never wear them.

This one specs at 42mm:

6.75"

42mm is the absolute max, and only if it's thinner. An Orient Ray II is the largest watch I'll wear.

40mm is better. 39mm is better. 38mm is the sweet spot.

FWIW, in my experience, Seiko will send you extra lengths for their bracelets at no charge. You have to pay for Orient links.

One time I emailed Seiko about extra links and they sent me an entire bracelet, which I cannabilized.

7.25 inch wrist here.

38 to 40 is my favorite as long as it is a diver!!!

If you go to something with a slim bezel, subtract about 4mm.

My 36mm Hamilton Viewmatic is HUGE on my wrist and it is a 36mm.  I should have gotten the 34.  That being said, the 36 is easy to read, that is for sure.

40mm Hammy Scuba:

Versus a 36mm Hammy Viewmatic:

Sorry about the scaling there....just HAD to get a closeup of that Viewmatic dial!!!!
