Trying to figure out an exhaust leak on one of my 1/5th scale buggies.

I just finished wiring this new box up. Standards are pretty much non-existent here. The box was an absolute rats nest before I did this. 10 internets if you can figure out how the electrical system works here. And if you can spot the most egregious potential problems.

Making bombs on your bench?

Biggest problem I see (and I have no idea what the hell I'm looking at) is wires poking through nasty punched jagged holes with sharp edges.  Even the bottom holes don’t have some sort of grommet.

Bingo!!

But they don't really use grommets here for stuff like that. The cable has a built in grommet. It's called shielding.

(It makes me crazy too but . . . What are you going to do?)

Eta: oh and this is an exterior box. There shouldn't be cables coming through the top at all.

Sick, I've been FPV flying for almost 5 months now.  Totally hooked. Nailed my first mattyflip in a bando two days ago.

Not a fan of the Kiss and Fettec Alpha firmware. No matter what it just doesn’t fly as crisp as Betaflight. So I ordered a BF controller and I’ll just re-pin the connector to run with the existing Fettec ESC.

I have one fettec KISS quad I got used and I agree that it is not as good as betaflight.  Will be sticking with BF in the future.
Good luck building, and enjoy the flying!

Combo of google and google earth and I've nailed a few good abandoned places around here.  Hitting one in Jersey soon just to go night vision exploring, no fpv.

Wow seriously? That's lame as hell bro. Yeah it's tough to find a legit spot for NPRC. Yeah I'm curious to see how it compares running a bullet type chassis. Here's my regular DR10, I have it for sale right now.

Finally putting together the Revell 1:32 Fw190 kit I bought 20-years-ago when I was last into scale models as a teen. This is the old Revell kit; not the new, and presumably vastly improved kit, as this one had quite a few fitment issues and lacks detail. Experimenting with some preshading techniques and jumped ahead on painting in some areas.

It's going to be in late-war RLM 81, 82, "84", and 76.

Sprayed most of the finish on the old 190 this weekend. First time spraying a multi-color/camo finish in 20-years. I think my rustiness shows, unfortunately. Vallejo Air RLM 81 & 82 seem a bit light to me. As others have already stated here, getting them to spray smoothly was also a chore. Particularly the 82. A lot more work than the Tamiya colors I used on my recent AFVs.

Reshot and made some progress on the 190 again this weekend. Actually used masking (Silly) putty and got better results. Imagine that. I'm still not completely satisfied with the brightness of Vallejo's RLM 81 and 82, but oh well. I'll try another brand for the late-war Bf 109G-10 I have in the queue.

3/4 Studio Scale Tie Fighter. Still on the fence about lighting the cockpit.

My SS X-wings are lit, but I never turn them on, so not sure I’m gonna bother with lighting the Tie.

This makes me laugh. I decided to start disassembling an expensive brass engine to fix a couple parts that were not soldered well when it came from the factory back around 1980. The previous owner had not even so much as un-taped and unwrapped it from the factory seals.

I did get it all repaired and re-assembled.

this is not my photo, but here it is re-assembled

Aside from a few decals and a satin clear coat, I’m calling the Tie complete.

That looks fun, I am learning I like larger scale models better.

I have 1/72 F-35 A and B models going, the B is ready for decals and A is still being painted.

What I enjoy the most about the F-35 is since I spent years working on them I don't have to look at a color chart, I know what everything is supposed to look like...

Nice! Those brass locomotives are fun to work on.  I have several that I need to paint and convert to DCC.
