Just picked up a Tamiya Racing Fighter 2WD buggy. Gonna get everything but the body done this weekend. Pairing it with an old MRC 2-stick AM radio and Futaba receiver. It's gonna stay stock, aside from ball bearings, at least for a while. I haven't had a hobby grade R/C since the Falcon when I was a kid.

Associated RC8T3.2e 1;8 scale electric 4wd radio control truck. Still in the box collecting dust along with Proline racing wheels and tires, Tekin brushless motor/ESC combo and Futaba radio system. Been sitting for almost a year. No time to build let alone get it on a track to run. Also have 50+ Battletech minis to paint, two stripped AR lowers to build and a Polaris side by side engine rebuild in the garage. I wish it was 2025 when I retire.
![]() ETA; That is a beautiful build OP! Can’t wait to see the finished product. ![]() |

Still building my 1/16 Takom FT17. Been working on it off and on for over a year. Beginning to weather the interior. I just have no workbench so the coffee table is the spot atm. Not a good spot but it's what I have.

Which hobby bench?
On the RC bench I have a Mojave 6s, erevo, axial yeti, tiny little Dromida short course truck, ascender slider, big ass charger and power supply, a Redding ultra mag press I've been making 5.45x39 brass with. The other hobby bench has a Dillon and a bunch of random shit a 3D printers on it. |
|
|
coffee maker right now along with a case of k-cups along with a temp location for my hobby computer.
the next bench over it has a few battery chargers along with a bunch of batteries. Soldering iron and a bunch of cables need to be resorted out to a new home. I just started cleaning up the area and need to find a new home for said coffee maker. |

Working on a 1/32 Hasegawa BF-109G10. Sadly, it’s been on my bench nearly a year. I had really hoped to get it further down the road when I was home from sea in December. However, the flu had other plans for me instead.

I have had a studio scale Y-wing on my bench for awhile…I keep threatening to work on it, but with the holidays and my business travel I just haven’t sat down and done anything.
It’s a resin kit by Nice-N Models. I’ll be using a mix of resin cast parts and original donors. Eventually, it will be Gold 5. Someday. It’s brother, Gold Leader, I built a few years ago. ![]() ![]() |

Some time ago, I assembled most of the turret on the Sherman and painted the interior of the Ju88. I might give a 1/16 figure a try, though, as the figures in my above diorama were my firsts and I found it rather enjoyable. View Quote Thx! I think it's going to turn out pretty good. It’s been sitting on the bench for a while now. I want to do the engines with some sort of partial natural metal finish to kinda go with the overall RLM 02 prototype look I’m going for. I haven’t been able to perfect a good NMF just yet. I’ll get to it like everything else. I try to build only one at a time, but that one has gotten passed over now I think twice. ![]() ![]() [ This is sorta look I’m going for. Three raindrop Damascus hunting knives that are waiting for my bandsaw to arrive so I can cut out the handle material to mount. Handle material already has the spacer material laminated onto it, rivets made, and material for the sheaths put aside.
Last hobby bench project was a Meerschaum pipe I carved..it is all finished but I haven't smoked anything in it yet. |

Three 3D printed flying models in various stages of completion:
SoarKraft Pika printed in PLA, painted and getting rigged to fly. All the servos are installed, 4 in the wing and two in the fuselage. SoarKraft Pika printed in LW PLA, is easily half the weight of the first one. Working on a paint scheme for it, and waiting for a day warm enough to spray paint... 3DLabPrint J-3 Cub (that file is free btw...) printed in LW PLA. Assembly is finished, need to do radio and servo installation. Motor and battery is on its way from Amazon. Painted the windows and windscreen last night.
