Quoted: (Caution, off the books reloading) I bought thousands and thousands of 6.5x55mm blanks when they were getting blown out for cheap. They're still only $96/1000+shipping. I've been pulling the wood bullets and reusing the primed case to make AG42 (which mutilates brass) ammo, and plinking ammo for my other 6.5x55s. The pulled powder works really nice for very light cast bullet loads, it is similar to unique, but be careful and work up. It was essentially free, so for the cost of casting a bullet, and a primer, you're in business shooting cheap. If you use it in a Swede (OBVIOUSLY much less than is in the blank originally) with a light cast bullet, you're shooting REALLY cheap. View Quote @p3590 How are they packaged? I'm not bold enough to try reusing blank powder like that, but I'm tempted at that price (even with the shipping) just for the primed brass. If they are in wooden crates, I might have to order. I'm a sucker for wood ammo crates |

As claimed here previously, all of them.
One that stands out for me is my old Springfield A3-03. Part of what makes it fun is that I bought it years ago for only $200 .Old guy had drilled it for competition scope blocks to use it in some kind of cast bullet match. Stock was super ugly but it cleaned up pretty good. Somebody worked over the trigger and found a new old stock barrel. In short it shoots very very well be it match loads ,hunting type loads (not that I hunt) or mild cast bullet loads. Gun is lighter than many current factory 30/06 rifles but it is stout enough that you don't get beat up by recoil but still can be carried around well. Iron sights on a A3-03 really work very well (even with my old eyes) Action of the bolt is quite smooth , I guess part of that is design and part that it is just well worn in. There are a whole lot of different weight bullets and lots of reload data that covers light powder puff loads up to heavy stuff for big mean animals In short, I bought it on cheap and it works well for all kinds of shooting |

It worked but I wasn't real happy with it. I hesitated buying the offset mount for a long time because I also couldn't picture being able to use it easily. But I finally took the plunge and it was so worth it. It looks like it's too far to the right, but it's not that much. I was used to it after a couple of shots. One of those things that you won't really believe until you try it. I love shooting it with this set up. Works fine for me. The groove is sized for rimfire rings (I have Leupold vertically split rimfire rings on mine). That's to keep things out of the way so you can still use chargers with the scope mounted. Larger rings would prevent that. @eracer |
