You win a bet with a rich friend, and the prize is, he will buy you any five guns you want.  Anything, full auto, etc. The only restrictions are, it has to be something you can legally buy currently from a gunshop, ( so no one of a kind .45 luger etc ) and  you can never sell them. You must keep them forever, and pass them on to a decendent / relative when you die.

What five guns do you choose?

1. 1921/28 overstamp Navy Thompson
2. Nice 1911
3. M1A
4. Some sort of towable artillery piece, probably 35-40 mm bore?
5. The balance of the 100K for ammo for #4

ETA: Something old school, belt-fed. Like an old Vickers or a Maxim.
Or maybe a Lewis.

I would have to go with full auto I guess.  try to get the best deal I could, and buy the gun in a set, with full accessories, mags, barrels, optics, etc, and hopefully some ammo as well, as that shits expensive to shoot.

1. M-2 .50 BMG heavy machine gun. ( with full set up, spare barrels, tripod, gun mount etc ) hopefully with some ammo as well.
Attachment Attached File

2. M60 A3 7.62mm medium machine gun. spare barrels, tripod, etc.
Attachment Attached File

3. M249 saw. 5.56mm.
Attachment Attached File

4. M16. ( try to find a new unfired one ) the m16 is the most versatile rifle there is. probably be better off just getting five of them.

5. full auto MP-5.

I would start with:

1. Korth Mongoose .357 revolver. https://www.nighthawkcustom.com/revolvers-17/mongoose-357

2.  Automag 44 mag.  http://www.automag.com/

3.  Ed Brown signature Edition 1911 engraved - this one:  http://www.edbrown.com/product/signature-edition-ss/

At this point I would be plenty happy and still 2 more to go.

4.  Carl Gustav M/45.  http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/Carl_Gustav_M/45

5. Rigby London Best in 30-06 or 6.5X55 with scope.

2. Carl Gustaf m45 (Swedish-K)

3. H&K MP5/10

4. H&K MP5SD

Assuming I had all my regular stuff, so I'd have carry guns and the like, if not drop one of the Belt-Feds, and I'll get a full house custom Python or 686, maybe a Korth or Manhurin

FN made AR-15  registered as an SBR with the fixings (lightweight FF handguard, Trijicon MRO, VCAS or Magpul MS1 sling mounted with QD swivels, light, etc).  It might wear a 16" barrel most of the time, but I'd want the option to swap down to 11.5" if desired.  Use would be multipurpose.
Glock 17 with night sights.  Use would be personal defense and CCW
Ruger Mk3 with red dot sight (MRO, or PA red dot of some kind).  Use would  be cheap plinking fun and practice
Ruger American Rimfire with QD scope rings and two optics.  One red dot, one low fixed power scope, interchanged for different purposes.  Use would be cheap plinking fun, practice, and small game hunting
Benelli M4 registered SBS with three barrels.  Long barrel for bird hunting and clays, a 14" cylinder bore for self defense, and a rifled slug barrel for big game hunting.

EDIT: Are we assuming you have no other guns?  This is what I'd choose if I were to have no others.  I can buy all of this on my own if needed, if we are talking these 5 guns and I can still have my other stuff, then the list looks like this:

1.  MG42 registered MG
2.  MP5SD registered MG
3.  Barrett M107
4.  M2 Browning registered MG
5.  M203 registered DD

So basically five dream guns, but nothing for financial gain?

A PKM.
A DIAS.
An MP7 (I'm going to assume that "rich" here means "rich enough to magically register unregistered guns")
Some really high end double shot gun (I always think that these would be awesome to own, but I'd never buy one myself even if I had the money).
An M2.

The newest M16 registered receiver I can find, no rewelds or anything shitty or beat up.

MP5 same way.

One of those tracking point rifles that has the automatic aiming scope I'd never be able to justify buying.

A nice Barrett .50 with all the bells and whistles.

An all steel RDIAS (whichever was the best manufactured one) so I could drop it into pretty much any AR lower and have fun.

Your question automatically leads to everyone choosing full auto NFA type guns.  What if you could ONLY have those 5 guns and no others?

1) a really nice AR
2) MP 5 full auto
3) colt python.
4) nice hi power
5) high end double barrel shotgun like a holland and holland.
