They sell stuff on consignment and there were stacks of Ammo cans all over. Lots of calibers at outrageous( I think) prices.
9mm 85cpr 5.56mm 90cpr 30/06 $2.00 pr 32 ACP $42 bx 12 ga $40 bx You get the picture I didn't look much closer until I saw several of those Federal 420 rd M855 ammo cans sitting over to the side. How much? I asked "They're going on Gunbroker for $1000 a can!" Sheit! I've got a couple of them in my bedroom at home! I think I'll take them to the flea market this weekend and price them at $800! ETA: Okay I fixed it for you! |

In the last week I've been by several gunshops with lots of ammo.
All you want for .85 per round for 9mm and .223. I think we have hit peak price except for some weirdos that can't handle themselves when looking at an auction. |

If I put a GameStop sticker on a .50 can, does it raise or lower the value?

Wow. Garand 30-06 at 2.00 per round? Anyone want to buy a dozen rounds or so?

I have to say it is worse than I thought it would get to. Bad enough that really questioning the replacement cost down the road if you sold off some ammo now. The upside is the free market is providing if you really need.

I stopped by one of mine today. They had a decent stock in a variety of calibers and gauges. Bought a case of 12 gauge federal top gun for $100 and 4 boxes of 7mm rem mag federal power shok for $44 a box. Not too much of an increase compared to last year.
|
|
I saw some Wolf Poly 7.62x39 for $9.99 a box at a LGS today. They probably had about 60 boxes at least on the shelf. Didn't buy any; I went to buy some reloading powder they had in stock, at a normal price. They were low on that, however, and 1 can per customer. No primers though .
|
|
Stopped by the LGS yesterday they have 9mm 48 cents a round 2 box limit. CCI small rifle, pistol, and large pistol primers $42 a thousand 2 box limit and a decent selection of powder at near normal prices $27-30 a pound.

I seriously doubt that Unless there is another 'event' that affects demand, inventories will continue to grow and the price will eventually start to drop. It is basic economics. The demand curve states that as supply goes up the price will go down. Unless the demand curve shifts, but that would take an event of some sort. As the riots, the chinaflu and the election shifted it. But that is baked into the current demand curve. So barring a shift, inventories WILL rise as ammo is not being sold out at current prices. And as supply increases, price will decrease. |

Quoted: Why do you want to become a price gouger? View Quote Says the guy that will buy it and flip it on gunbroker! LOL! I saw an old guy at a local shop complaining about no 4570 brass in stock. Perhaps I should have offered him half my stash of Starline I bought several years ago when I bought my rifles. I also have primers. Some I got at a reasonable price. Some I paid what I had to. I'm not really interested in selling anything Ammo or primers. However if someone wants to offer me crazy money, or a bunch of 5.7, all bets are off. I believe we've just about hit "peak ammo." |

Those are pretty normal prices now. When it gets over $3 a round for 5.56 I’m selling out and buying a cabin on the lake.

I went to a flea market this morning and a guy that has been selling ammo now has 45acp ball ammo at $100.00 a box of 50. And if you want to buy hollow points he wants $200.00 for a box of 50 and its just plain white box Federal hollow points. That motherfucker is out of his fucking mind and a douche bag.

I am going to switch to an alternative hobby such as photography, I live in Kali, and I may not be able to restock my ammo supply if I sell it.

If Joe Blo holds off targeting the 2A then things could get semi normal. I think everything is geared for the mid terms. |

The problem with selling is replacing it. Many of us bought it when prices were cheap and with the unknown future what would it cost to replace what you have. I saw 525 round box of Federal 22 LR sell for $165 /$20 shipping. I have 5250 round cases of it the I paid $165 for.

I posted a case of 5.56 for $1000 and within 15 mins someone offered me $900 and I had 3 people in line as 2nds, 3rds, etc if the first guy backed out. its so easy to get $1 per round right now im contemplating unloading all my .223 and going and buying a new truck in cash..

At these prices, can you just leave 5 rounds on the table as a tip for your meal??

I have a few of those 480 round federal cans of m855 on strippers.
It's not great ammo, I'm cashing it in for IMI razor. |
