[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Warhammer Age of Sigmar

Any Age of Sigmar fans here? My soon to be brother in-law is trying to talk me into the hobby. I have no experience with any of the Warhammer type games. I've enjoyed the 40K thread and would like to see/learn the difference. Thank you in advance.

I play the non turn based video games.
Tabletop is crazy expensive to play.
The lore is amazing.

I'm assuming you are referring to the Total War games?

It's an easier game to learn. The rules aren't as convoluted.

The miniatures are amazing.

Some good YouTube channels are in no particular order:

Rerolling Ones
MWG
Heywoah
Radio Free Hammerhal

You can get a full 2000 point Ironjawz army, which is a fun to play faction for about $500

Don't buy any rulebooks, a new edition is due out soon.

I've found some Heywoah videos. I will have to check out the others.

I kinda like the looks of the Cities of Sigmar especially the Guild. But I'm not sure you can effectively fire and maneuver with only a 5 turn game.

So tempted to grab some ~~Sigmar-ines~~Stormcast, give them backpacks, bolters and chainswords, and paint them up as Space Marines.

I'm serious though, some special unit/honourgaurd in Artificer armour. And being GW minis, store and tournament legal.
