Local Academy had plenty of ammo (9mm, 45a, 556, 7.62AK, 7.62 Nato). Short line. But the ammo is kept behind the customer service desk and they are rationing. 3 boxes per customer, per day. I saw them turn away 2 guys for coming back through the line.

I left .22 Stingers and 12 and 20 gauge 100 pks at Walmart this week.
Did buy a little, but not all. AlthoughI DID grab the last 3 Win 333 pks, clerk made me! Said he wanted it gone before Necbeard the Ammo Pirate got there |

At Academy's here in ATX, line wraps around the building at 8 AM for ammo when they have a truck. All gone within an hour. Selection is hit or miss. One day they got hundreds of boxes of 9 and little else, another day they got hundreds of 50 count 22 LR and a few 45 and 308. BB's almost impossible to find, I only notice them when scrounging for pellets for my 22 high power pellet gun, which is our last ditch survival rifle. Hollow point 22 pellet will take down a squirrel or rabbit w/ no prob, but those are hard to find too.

Getting bad out there folks. Went to a big LGS today just to see. They had exactly ONE pound of shotgun powder. Went over to Academy down the road.

The WalMarts on the panhandle still carry ammo, as well as the one's near Tampa? That does not mean they are fully stocked, but they try to keep it in stock. Though one near Tampa said they were no longer ordering handgun ammo, just rifle and shotgun. |
