My wife wants our wedding video, kids birthdays etc converted from VHS tapes to DVD's
I'd rather move them right to a hard drive or multiple USB's depending on the length of the videos
I know I can send the tapes out and have it done but are there any decent products that are DIY?
Wife's birthday is next month and this would be a nice surprise

Lots of video cards have a video input, but with modern digital rights management they may not allow recording.
You'd need a composite or SVideo port or an adapter most likely.
