I am sitting here on my laptop now. Away from my ultra wide monitor (21:9 3440x1440). I feel cramped, squeezed, isolated. Like I am stuck inside a tiny box and can't move. How the hell did I get anything done before? I have not a clue. But I hate this. Ultra wide all the things.

What size is it?

I kind of want to do ultrawide.

I have a 27" and a 21" (i think). I was debating getting 2 more 27"s to replace the 21" as I have too much shit I need open when I work from home

Yep. Went to those when we moved out company HQ. Very nice, but I also liked my 2 monitor setup I had before.

I thought having 3- cheap 22" monitors was cool.

I could get by with one of those and resize the apps to fill the space.

Needs moar pixels.

I'm rocking dual LG 34-Inch 21:9 Curved UltraWide QHD IPS Monitors at work.  Life is good.

Triple 27" are nice! Got two side by side and one above it. I could never go back.

IPS panels cost a bit more than o/q/led displays.  IPS have incredible colors and the deepest blacks.

I had 2 PC's & 4 monitors for a while at
work after a large rif & IT was overrun
with PC's. It didn't last long, but it was
fun while I had them.

We bought our son a bigger TV for his
room for Christmas & I called dibs on his
32" and use it with my surfing laptop.
I am working on another work area for
a more technical work station for image
manipulation & editing for photography
& drone images, and for 3d modeling
for my 3d printer, and I will buy at least
one large hi-rez monitor for that area when
we get that close to complete. I will also
buy another 3d mouse, as well.

Oh the joys of the little things!

Huh?

OLEDs have the deepest blacks. And better color than IPS. And contrast.

IPS is "better" than TN and VA because of better viewing angle. VA panels are more typically found in TVs and have better contrast, blacks, and color than IPS.

IPS has never been known for good blacks. "IPS glow" is a thing.

Quantum dot displays have better contrast, color, brightness, and blacks than IPS.

We use a Dell 49" widescreen flanked by 2 24" monitors in our office. At first I thought the 49" would be kinda gimmicky and worthless but, after using it for the past 4 months I kinda like it. I just wished it was a little more curved.

I will always have ultrawide forever now.

I have a Dell 34" curved widescreen monitor. I'm using it right now. I love it.

I'm thinking maybe later this year or next year I might get one of the 49" monitors. Bam! I like widescreen!

Same, but I have two side by side. I work on a lot of Excel, Power BI and other data sets.

Note that the resolutions are different. OPs monitor is a little taller and narrower, while this one is shorter and wider.

Just bumping a thread that cost me money.  LG 34” is inbound-34N850.  Nano IPS for color - 144mz and 1ns for gaming (FreeSync/GSync compatable)- 3440x1440.  Per quick math, it should approximate the size of my former work dual 21’s.

In a few weeks will join the UW PC master race.

I probably shouldn't do this, but . . . forgive me, OP.

20.7 million pixels across ~13.7 square feet of LCD, driven by 3 computers.  That's one 42" 4K monitor and six 21" 1080 ones.

I wish I could afford to replace the whole mess with a single 80" curved 8K monitor and some sort of video multiplexer so each computer could physically output to a virtual monitor that I could move around the physical one.  I don't think that technology even exists yet.

I'm perfectly happy with my 24" 1080p.  Ultra wides look unnatural to me.  Every once in a while I will use my 50" plasma wall mounted above the desk for a second monitor, but I'm much happier with just one screen to manage.  If I had a bigger desk I'd consider upsizing the monitor a tad, but this is the biggest that fits.

I thought about that one but I don't play any games where my 1080Ti could push that many frames.
