Installing some crossbars on our car. They provide a torque indicating wrench and say to tighten to that torque (no more no less).
How does this thing work?

Spring inside. Line up the two arrows and you have the right torque.

Thanks so much.

So tighten down until the two arrows on the wrench align?
That just seems super tight (can't seem to make it move by twisting it)

That black barrel is very small in diameter (~1").  You would have to have to exert 70 pounds of force on the outside to get 4Nm of force.  70 lb is a lot, plus the plastic is probably a little slick.
