Okay so I can print receivers and other parts for everything I care to. Done that, ran that, all good.

However, I am a firearms instructor and I am wondering if anyone came across 3d printable simulators for pistols - a working-enough revolver that can't fire, a working-enough semi-auto.

Blue inert guns we can do - the files are out there. TDPs are out there but a fair bit of modification is needed. Yes I can print a yellow barrel for a real pistol, put that in there, and it won't make holes in places it shouldn't anymore.

Thoughts?

Have you thought about airsoft? I have an Airsoft G17 (converted to a P80 frame) and if you make a small mod to keep the slide catch from catching, you could run them w/o BBs, but with full gas for the action. If you get the gas blowback operation version pistol (what I have), they are identical to the real thing except less recoil.
