The price is an even bigger WTF, how the hell is WV that expensive??

Got the 1980's church look , but nice land. House is doable , but needs some severe updating.

I'd buy it just for the property and live in the old farm house. Pretty country.

Looks like a nice piece of land but the house has a shitload of weird things going on.

Might have the acreage but hardly any of it is flat. Years back, looked at West Virginia to move to for college since my wife had family there and found any sizeable amount of flat acreage was big money that they were wanting for it.

Nice property. I just don't think I would want to live within nuclear munitions range of Washington.

Whoever buys that is going to rip out all the wood paneling, paint everything white, and then give their wife the place when they get divorced
Doesn't look terrible but definitely a confused aesthetic I love wood paneling |

It's a neat house, really, it's just dated styling. That's hurting it worse than the layout, IMHO.
If this house was in Hill Country, TX, it would sell for $10,000,000 as is with that much property. |

It would have moved ten times over without the fancy 80’s estate, just the old farm house. Lower commensurate price of course. I also don’t totally hate the place. I see a lot of wasted space and I like roominess, less furniture and less decor. I am a less is more guy. If I had the money I could fill up that house with wildlife mounts. Other than the kitchen and bathrooms I could live with the out dated woodwork. Speaking of the kitchen, they never heard of a work triangle. To go from the fridge to the oven you need two bus transfers. And I like a bigger kitchen and lament mine isn’t bigger. |

The house probably was relatively expensive to build at the time. However, it needs some MAJOR renovation to update the interior, and it's obvious that here has been some maintenance neglect as well.
So, for the most part, you are buying the land (which is nice) and can plan on sinking a shitload into the house to make it more modern, and also to prevent further deterioration. |

View Quote If I had that there nice piece of bottom land..... If I built a weird layout house I would do a villa with a walled courtyard. Two wings of a house at 90 degrees, garage on a third side and a stone wall with an ornate iron gate for the fourth. Or go totally Roman and have a Roman bath house steam building. |

Just around the corner from the NSA listening post.
I'd buy it just for the land and tear it down flat. |

I like wood features but that is just muddled. I am afraid I would do the same mistakes making ideas fit......poorly. |

That's a little odd but not terrible. I could live there. I've seen much worse.

Personally - I'm getting pretty sick of flat. It looks like that property would be great for horses, atvs, hunting, etc. Big reason why I moved from my last locale. I hunted two hundred thirty acres of flat grass over solid limestone. When it rained hard I would have to cross 2’ fast flowing deep new rivers for a few days until it all drained off to the lake. It was boringly flat. Now where I hunt the farm next door I worry about inducing a cardiac event from the hill climb every morning. By the time the season closes I am conditioned to it.....until I sit in my easy chair all winter again drinking scotch and bourbon. |

I finished early and started throwing things everywhere. I even had a dance hall with floating urinals. |

The pictures are awful. They don't do much to make the house look attractive. The realtor did a bad job on them.

Always just shoot down the middle when building your home, we used lots of gray and yellow colors with light charcoal wood floors for our home in Naples. On the other extreme, two streets over in our development is Jeff Bezos ex wife's house. It is so over the top fucking gaudy, it has been cut from $10m to 7.5M to $5M before it sold..

Other than the outdated interior and lack of forced air… I like it.

5 bedrooms and only 2.5 baths is a little odd....if you had enough people to fill 5 bedrooms (normally 2 in the master and 1 in each of the others, for 6 people), can you imagine 6 people all trying to get ready for school and/or work at about the same time in 2.5 baths.
However, there is much to be said for having just over 240 acres in order to get privacy, or have your own shooting range. Yes, house is a bit dated, but appears to be in reasonable condition. I like the large garage with the giant wood shop table. Having a giant shop for either woodworking, machining, or knife/sword forging (or all three) would be really great. |

From a roof maintenance perspective, it's fantastic. Walk right on from the side with no ladder. Plus with the earth that high up the walls on 2 sides, you have a natural bunker.

Fire up that semi, get out on the road for a couple of months and come home with much cheddar.

What lowlife used the last of the toilet paper and left the empty roll on the holder?
Thats a deal breaker for me! |

I’ve seen worse around Pittsburgh
It’s got a nice view or so it seems. |

View Quote That is a way overpriced resort, I doubt the bank would want to get stuck with this albatross. |
