This is the Taylor 9mm 1911 that PSA was blowing out a couple weeks ago. It's absolutely packed with nifty features like better sights, upgraded grips, checkered backstrap, grooved front strap, "memory hump" safety, and flared magazine well. Just the tiniest bit of play in the slide. The trigger is not the best, somewhat gritty with a bit of take-up. I think it'll smooth out with shooting and dry fire.
Speaking of which, it shoots like a dream. All steel, recoil is insanely smooth. I think this is going to become my favorite pistol. Attached File Attached File |

Ignore my shitty shooting. The center target was at 10 yds. The left two were at 20 yds with the FMJ. The upper right corner was 20 yds with 124 gr. HSTs. The lower right corner was 20 yds with 124 gr. Sierra JHPs. Attached File

That doesn’t sound affordable.
Nice. I didn’t even realize these were available. |

$300ish 1911s have been flooding the market lately.
I ordered the tisas deal on BF myself |
|
Are these made by Armscor / RIA?
Looks just like one of their offerings. I just picked up the RIA that's very close but adds adjustable rear sight and fiber optic front. It was $525 - ordered before seeing the PSA deal Mine shoots like a dream! |

Who makes these? I guess I'm mostly wondering where they are made. Philippines?

That's good to hear, I bought one yesterday. I can't wait until it gets here.
ETA: I see now you have a different version, the one I ordered doesn't have the upgraded sites and beaver tail. |

I bought the 10mm from PSA, got it in Friday. Very nice.
ETA: It came with absolute shit magazines; the KBI 45. I had a lot of trouble with them. Swapped in some MecGar 45 mags and no failures since. |

I have a Armscor-manufactured Cimarron 1911 that absolutely digests everything I stuff into it, from 185-gr JHP’s to 255 gr cast semi wad cutters.
I also have a pair of Shooters Arms (the other big 1981 manufacturer in the Philippines). Excellent guns. |

It's nuts how cheap you can get a decent 1911 for right now.
I want one of the made in Italy Chiappa ones, just because muh spaghetti guns. They get great reviews too and Buds has them well under 400. |

I picked up a RIA tactical for $325 with free shipping a few years ago. I should have bought 10 for Christmas presents.

An armscor 10mm full sized 1911 for $430?
I've been debating a RIA 10mm commander for $700ish but...I've gotta read up on these Taylor's things. Either we're in the absolute golden age of affordable 1911's, or that price is too good to be true |

I only have 230 rounds through my 9mm, but I really, really like it.

In the old days, I think some guys would put a little tack weld on and grind it until they had it where they wanted it. In any event, insufficient pre/over travel is a good way to make a trigger easy to bump fire and double. |
