These are 100mg tabs. I have a pill cutter
Yes, I have heard that they can cause headaches (vasodilator). Doctor says to stay well hydrated (water not alcohol). An ARFCOM buddy who's an RN told me that Cialis (taladafil) if often Rx'd as a daily med for enlarged prostate (me) but that it may not be a VA-approved treatment as they're often behind the times. |

View Quote "Spendy" indeed. Rx just arrived in today's mail. The tablets are huge so cutting them into the desired dosage...hopefully 25mg quarter tabs...will be easy. Gonna run up the flag this weekend. ETA: a closer inspection of the bottle shows the doctor was mistaken. I get FOUR fills/year not three. At the recommended 1/2 tablet that's 72 doses/year or a dose every 5 days. Other than cut them in quarters I figured out another way to make them last longer: "Honey! I just bought a case of primers using our emergency fund!" |

The VA gave me 4 a month for several years, with the same dosing standard (100mg in half).
I’m still finding bottles of the shit. They were, well, unfortunately optimistic about frequency of need. |

The VA might not cover that many pills, but the doc should give you an Rx. If the VA won't pay for the pills, get them at CostCo. Enough pills to keep you bonered-up 24/7 for 6 or 7 months straight will only cost you something like $60. |

This drives me crazy.
I'm not 65 years old! I want to have a normal healthy sex life, and that is NOT once a week. This is what happens when politicians write medical treatment policy. |

"If the VA won't pay for the pills, get them at CostCo."
Am I to understand that you don't need a Costco membership to get a Rx fill there? Is that correct? |

I can see the VA being stingy with this type of medicine. I have seen too many times where vets that don't need it get a VA doctor to prescribe it anyway. The guys turn around and sell the pills to their buddies.
I was prescribed Viagra years ago but never used it. I didn't need it, I jut needed a new girlfriend instead. |

You can get daily Cialis approved for prostate issues, but it takes a little paperwork and follow through to get the mail order folks on the same page. View Quote |

Technically, it can be prescribed for BPH, but it's next to ineffective for it. Flomax is about 10x more effective. The guys turn around and sell the pills to their buddies. That was probably true when it was name-brand, and at the peak, something like $50/pill. Now that it's generic and can be had for something like $0.25 per pill, I wouldn't think there'd be much market in that. Like I said above, buying the pills from Costco, you could have a boner for a half-year straight for something like $30, so I assume that the wholesale cost of the pills is probably somewhere around $10-$15 for that length of time. It would probably cost the VA less to just hand them out than to pay employee salaries to spend 10 minutes explaining why they didn't want to. |

90 pills of cialis is like $18.00 at Costco.
