The Glenlivet 18 - Page 1

I have a hankering to splurge a little on another 18 year. I really enjoy the Speyside varieties especially the Glenlivet 12 and 15. Is the 18 worth the money? I can get it semilocally for $82 a bottle.

Fo. Glenlivet 18 is what converted me to a scotch drinker. $82 a bottle is a good price too.

Yep, $82 is cheap. Around here that's a $150-$180 bottle.

At 18yr, the mouth feel is totally different than the 12 or 15. It's silky and coats your tongue.

Most places consistently give it a low to mid 90s score. I think I’m going to fo next time I’m near the right store.

I'm thinking of getting a bottle.

It is a bit over $100 locally, and that is more than I have ever paid for a bottle of scotch, but with the glowing review, it is hard to resist.

Try checking totalwine.com see if they ship to you and what their price is.

I’m really shocked at the difference in the price there and the price I’ve seen on the shelf. Usually right around $100 around here as well.

Nevermind I just went and checked that site for a Hartford CT store and it’s $106 there for you. Bummer.

Just realized this was Glenlivet and not Macallan.

Glenlivet 18 is just smoother than the 12. About what you'd expect from more age. Slightly sweeter IMO.

~$80 is the going rate here.

A lot of Costcos have the 12,15,18 trio for 160 right now

If I had any interest in Glenlivit I would have pounced on that.

My wife and I had the 18 at a Glenlivet tasting. I like their lineup, and think the 15 year comes in just ahead of the 18.

Do it. It’s worth it. Another sleeper from glenlivet is the founders reserve. For the money it is a steal.

That bottle alone is the sole reason I have not ventured deeper into The Glenlivet.

Granted it was 25 bucks, but I was so put off by it I have no reason to explore any further. Funny how different peoples tastes can be.
