I like it so far, Nioami and Amos arc follow book pretty close. Butchered Alex Bobbie Holden stories and killed Fred .
They PoundMeToo'd the Alex actor so he won't be in season 6. That will screw the story. |

Season 6 is the last season so how they wrap it up ( 3 books ) is going to be interesting, killing Fred early was prob part of it.
Maybe they will just close it out with book 6 and leave some vague ending incase they change mind and make more seasons. |

The production just didn't seem up to typical standards the show has had in the past for gun fights. That's all. I'm hoping it means they decided to budget more for some excitement in the upcoming episode. |

Good on them for doing it that way, guess I shouldn't criticize too hard. Less polished is exactly what I would call it, and the reasoning makes total sense. The Naomi shit is irritating. Unfortunately because the dumb bitch goes off to “save” the son she abandoned as an infant in the books they’re kind of locked into that shit
I could have done without seeing her gasp for breath in 3 fucking episodes, though. I get the fucking point The worst part is Marco Not the character The actor. ‘ How much fucking eye makeup do they put on him before each take And he sounds like he’s about to cry every fucking time he opens his mouth It doesn’t make you sound more dramatic It doesn’t make your lines have more gravitas It makes you sound like a cunt that is helping ruin my favorite show on television Fuck |

I don't recall Naomi going all weepy and shit in past seasons when shit hit the fan. It's annoying. Especially as I'm rewatching previous seasons and see the part where she's totally willing to die on Ganymede with no issues. Wonder if the show's budget is playing into the Naomi storyline? Probably not too expensive to keep showing her gasp/sob/cry on the same set. Maybe saving money for a Super Awesome-O season 6???

I haven't read the books. Season 4 was a definitely a decrease in quality compared to 1-3, but figured that might be the narrative change and the story slowing down (which was necessary, couldn't keep going at the same breakneck speed). Now with Season 5 turning out not so great I think the problem lies with Amazon producing it. Somehow it had a larger budget when on SyFy????

Fair enough. Belters wear weird makeup and have tattoos that look like makeup (see Drummer, I believe her eye makeup is actually supposed to be a tattoo) anyway. None of it would matter to me if the dude delivered his lines differently. I get the Belt has weird diction and a weird way of speaking. But it can be delivered brilliantly (see Anderson Dawes in the first few season). Every time this guy opens his mouth I want to punch shit. Honest, not sarcasm, does he talk like that in other stuff? |

Seems like the writers said "let's have a cliffhanger for Naomi at the end of episode 9" and wrote the whole season backwards from there.
|
|
[#41]
They have spent a huge amount of time on seemingly irrelevant stuff. Perhaps they have some plot value down the line but that doesn't mean we gotta burn a whole episode down watching Naomi try to breathe.
This reminds me of a small scale game of thrones where they wasted valuable time and weren't able to totally wrap it up in the end. One season sounds way too short. |

That gunfight was terrible. Amos taking distance shots with a pump action shotgun, Eric firing one handed, black woman doing fire ball mag dumps and no reloads.
Actor that plays Marco is insufferable and they've managed to ruin Naomi's character as well. I liked her a lot before this season. I was wondering why Alex was stuck on the ship with Bobbie. Bummer to hear he's off the show, although at least it saved us from Bobbie "actiing". |
