If we want to be fair though, Jan Hus and other matrys were victims of an earlier cancel culture from within the church, and before them the saints martyred by rome were victims of an earlier cancel culture.

For this reason we have adopted the concept of tollerance, but it seems that tollerance alone is not enough and not stable enough, given that it can allow the rise of new cancel cultures.  It is a challenge then to consider, how do we allow people to be free in conscience and be free of oppression, yet restrain those who would bring oppression, without falling to be the oppressor ourself.  

I argue it is not within human capability on the whole, and it is an example as to why Humanity is not in itself sufficient, but MUST be lead directly by God who alone is just and wise to rule.  So long as we will try to raise ourselves or insert ourselves above him, all our works will turn to ruin and death.  So the scriputre says the world goes unto the restoration and judgement.  Our role is to understand what the alternative was, a world where we don't cancel each other but exhort each other and support each other toward understanding and submission to the Living God who alone is able to satisfy our needs.  Even as those around rage and destroy you, stand as a true witness unto death.
