Help us stand up for the Second Amendment, call the White House at (202)-456-1111 today and tell President Trump that he should oppose the expansion of federal background checks and oppose the ban on bump stocks.
If that number is busy, then call 202-456-1414. There is one proposal that would prevent shootings like this in the future. The Safe Students Act (H.R. 34) would repeal gun-free school zones across the country, allowing security guards, administrators, teachers, and parents to protect their students. 98% of public mass shootings occur in gun-free zones. These killers target locations where guns are not allowed because they feel safe. Precious lives are lost because of the time it takes to stop these killers. It’s time to eliminate this ineffective ban and put the safety of our nation’s children first. Call the White House at (202)-456-1111 today and tell President Trump that he should oppose the expansion of federal background checks … oppose the ban on bump stocks and magazines … and throw his support behind the repeal of gun-free school zones instead. Did yesterday and today. and my congressional reps/senators too.
Been urging people to do the same in every relevant thread I have seen. Be polite, be professional, but firmly tell them they'll lose your support and votes if they do anything other than try to strengthen the security at our schools (even that is problematic, but I think maybe they would like to be able to say their constituents want them to do something else, not gun ban). |

Short and to the point. (I'm not the most eloquent person)
Although NH's entire Congressional delegation are anti-2A scum. I'm writing to strongly urge you to stand fast and oppose any new bills, regulations or restrictions on lawful firearms or their accessories. Like all of us, I'm stunned and saddened by recent events. However, restrictions on firearms does not negate the evil in this world or prevent future tragedies. We should focus on hardening our schools (making them difficult targets for violent madmen), institutionalized treatment for mental disorders and ensuring law enforcement has the tools and ability to followup on potential threats before they result in violence. Placing the blame on the shoulders of millions of American gun owners is wrong. We will stand with you to find creative solutions to strengthen and protect our society, but not at the expensive of our most valued rights as a free people. Thank you for your consideration in this matter. |

Did it yesterday, received a response with the same letter head. Mine read:
I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts and look forward to reading your email......basic one sentence response. After that a paragraph about awarding this years Medal of Valor recipients. I am sure I ended up on some list but figured it was worth it, I do not want to sit outside wishing I did something. I wasn’t short but your limited to 2000 characters so anyone attempting a novel will be shot down.

Done. It is my belief that this is part of an "A/B" testing strategy by Trump. Scott Adams had a good blog post about this back during the election, he gave many examples of Trump using this technique. It is my gut feeling that Trump won't betray us. I know there are many others here that feel the same way. But this is absolutely no excuse not to communicate to him our dissatisfaction. Tell him he will lose your vote - there is absolutely no down side to threatening this. I implore all of those on the Trump Train to contact him.
