This thread makes me not feel so bad. Been through two moves on mine and continually having to pick a place with good storage for it.
Been hording parts as I can find them for years. Pretty good progress has been made, but I've thought about selling a few times. Hate to see it go to waste, getting there slow but sure. Just find it's hard to get solid days every week on it. Good to know others are in the same boat on their projects. |

1969 Rally Sport Camaro. I bought it in 2000 at the age of 14. Had a 327, installed a 383, blew it up in my early 20s. Then it sat in my dad's pole barn for a good 10yrs. I drug it to my house a few years back, started tearing it down and painted it black with plasti dip. Haven't touched it since. Every few years I'll get on a kick and buy a bunch of parts, then I lose interest again. Car needs quarters and the floors redone correctly again. I have a speed tech front subframe, a tko600 extreme, used L96 LS based motor, new AMD doghouse. There's probably 25g worth of new parts sitting in my extra bedroom. I go back and forth with slapping it together so it drives, but my OCD really wants it to be perfect. I'm torn lol. " /> |

The 01 Bullitt is such a great car, simple and reliable. I’ve been able to get mine back to reliable daily driver status with the Haines manual and the rental tools from auto zone.
The new edge mustangs have doubled in price the last year (like everything else) and if/when they go down my plan is to purchase more and kind of specialize in restoring the 01 Bullitt’s and Mach 1’s as a hobby. |

Picked up a 1997 Trans Am WS6 Ram Air, Hardtop (non t-top), 6spd.
Needs a few mechanical issues addressed before I can get it inspected and titled. Have the parts. Currently, not the time. I think I had a white knight complex with this car when I stumbled across it. I've seen the potential of what the car can be brought back to, but in order to do so, I had to get it away from the owner. Not sure how to post a pic, so if anyone can let me know, I'll try to post one up. |

Is any "project car" ever actually "finished".
I "finished" this one 7 years ago and it's still always something. The electric fan stopped last time out (think it's just a relay) and a small mishap means it's now also waiting on some paint and body work. Attached File This one is a bit further away from "finished", took it apart a few years ago to whip into shape after taking years to track it down and get it (it was built by my grandfather in the late 70's from a beetle my dad gave him, then sold at his estate sale in 2008. Once it's running this spring I'll get it on the dyno, get it tuned and see if I want to add some PSI to it. |

1985 S-10 4x4 2.8L V6 with Tahoe package and aftermarket frame/body lift that my uncle purchased almost new, and later sold. He later passed away in a tragic river accident in '91.
I was able to acquire the truck around 2012, after it has been beaten to shit by everyone and their brother as a mud-truck. Entire body harness has been chewed up by countless shade-tree lighting/stereo installers. Started making big plans for a total ground-up re-engineered supercharged LS V8 upgraded drivetrain, to turn it into a show truck as a tribute to my late uncle, and a familiar heirloom the rest of the family can take a remembrance ride in. Bodywork and LS/4L80E drive-train upgrades are pretty straight-forward. Independent front axle is too fragile, though, and will be a big problem for a warm V8. Solid-axle swaps look promising, until I go looking for high-pinion axles to fit the truck/lift. Very limited direct-fit options, and $3-5K per axle looks like the starting point for decent strength in custom-built Dana 60/70 series, and goes upwards from there. Not terribly knowledgeable regarding 4x4 axles and available options to begin with, and the sticker-shock hits right as the economy truly starts to head to hell in a handbasket. Sadly, I need to begin with the axles as the foundation of the build, so I can square the frame/suspension/steering/fuel/brake upgrades away before drive-train and bodywork can begin. Playing it safe for now by holding off until better times to begin, last thing I want to do is sink a ton of cash and effort into a project when times are so unpredictable. |

1969 Camaro SS small block going to LT5. TCI tube frame, Detroit Speed mini tubs, torque arm, 9" rear, 14" Wilwoods all around etc All new NOS sheetmetal on it with tight, even gaps set. Owned since 1984
'73 Z-28 RS Factory Midnight Blue, stripe delete, deluxe interior, loaded and beautiful! Really close now. 4 wheel disc, Hotchkiss, QA1s, Fitech, ground up. 27 years and never driven it lol 1979 Porsche 928. New Prussian Blue paint, all new leather interior, 64k original miles. Close! I've got a amc (jeep) scrambler sitting in my shop in pieces, and sadly I haven't touched it in couple of years and it takes up a huge space, I've also got a chevrolet 1970 c10, that rarely gets drove and needs some love. I keep too busy maintaining everything else and family's vehicles.

It started life as a inline 6, with almost zero options. Currently has a 302 truck motor with an intake and headers pushing a T5. Granada discs up front, Complete 3.55:1 8.8" rear axle out of a 96 GT with discs in the back. This summer, I replaced/rebuilt anything and everything related to steering and front suspension. Interior is in decent shape. I recently picked up a set of the front and rear deluxe interior panels with the wood grain. When I get done screwing around with with the windows and locks inside the doors, I'll put in the rest of the interior. With that combination of transmission and rear end, the car is a bit on the rowdy side to drive on the streets. When I blow this motor up, I'll probably go to a 351W + TKX and back off on the rear end a bit, closer to a 3.00:1. All the exterior lighting works great. Interior wiring has been hacked up and nothing works. Almost none of the gauges work. I will most likely rewire the whole car at some point and do aftermarket gauges. Currently sitting on a set of junk yard rims I got off an early 90s mercury. I'm saving my pennies up for something similar to yours. Maybe the scott drake shelby ones with the spinners. |

I'll make all of y'all feel infinitely better about all of your unfinished projects
My last project car was sold before I really even got started. I had a 1986 Corolla SR5 hatch rolling shell. No rear brakes, a manual transmission of unknown origin, no fuel tank, no engine, pretty much no interior. It was as clean of slate as you could ask for. I was planning on swapping in a JDM Toyota 3S-GE BEAMS out of an Altezza (a little 2.0L I4 making 209bhp/162tq) and 6MT, converting to Nissan S13 front suspension with a 5-lug hub swap, Ford 8.8" rear, etc. I was guesstimating it would've weighed in right at a ton and would have been one hell of a fun car. I made it as far as completely stripping the interior and chipping up every square millimeter of sound deadening, then ended up changing jobs. I was storing the car at the shop I worked at and had no place to store it at home and asking to store an antique shitbox at work immediately after getting hired seemed like a bad move, so the AE86 had to go before I could even really get into it |

Basic '67 Mustang C-Code Coupe. Picked it up as a retirement project, then delayed retirement.
I wanted a daily driver so warmed over the low-mileage 289 with new intake and exhaust. shaved the towers and installed coil-overs all around. Installed rack & pinion steering, new (larger) gas tank and replaced fuel lines. Hadn't gotten to the brake upgrades yet, nor the interior (one small vinyl puncture in the driver's bucket, and I have a replacement dash still in the box, sitting in the back seat). It ran when I parked it 2+ years ago, but had a flat spot (needed carb tuning). But I then ignored it till this spring and now it doesn't want to run (will fire when sprayed with starter fuel, so appears to be a fuel issue...not a surprise). Worse, it's now rusting under the vinyl top. I don't have time or energy to finish it now. May push it into a barn somewhere so I can advertise it as an "Amazing Barn Find" and get some cash back out of it. |

Mine is probably the most boring one here. My dad passed away in 2006. I inherited his 1994 Nissan Hardbody pickup. It is a 2wd extended cab. It has 189,000 miles on it. When I parked it in my shop, it ran great. Now, it won't crank. The last time it ran was about 2010. The tires are now all flat and dry rotted. I can fix anything that goes wrong with my house, but when it comes to cars, I am lost. I really want to take it to someone and get them to get it running again, but I just haven't done it. I don't even know if it would cost me $200 or $2,000 to get it running again. The body, paint, and interior are all in really great shape. I guess I need to hurry up and do something with it.
