Picked up a super nice 11.6" Yoga, few years old but in like new shape, except for a little LCD discoloration.  I've looked at some YT videos of pulling the LCD assembly itself completely apart and cleaning between the layers (mostly for water damage).  I'm waiting for the proper sized Torx wrench to arrive, so figured I'd do some more research before I take the system apart.

On one part of the LCD is some darker spots, similar to what water between the layers looks like on the YT videos.  On another part of the LCD, there is some super slight discoloration, almost looking like your mom's TV when you put a speaker too close to it and the magnet screwed it up.  Its really only visible when specific colors are placed under it.

Just wondering what sorts of issues, other than water, can cause LCD discoloration, and how successful I can expect to be at fixing it myself, considering a used LCD panel for this machine costs about as much as I paid for the whole unit.

Thanks!!!
