'21 XLT 302a 2.7L EB 4x4, otherwise stock. Actually I got tired of the factory Hankooks a bit early so I'm having a set of new Continental A/T's thrown on next week.

Ordered in October. Took delivery in May. I’ve got a bed full of Carli parts waiting to go on currently. Just need to find the time.

Had to drag my Technical to the trans shop the other day.  Torque converter was starting to feel a little bumpy after ~12 seasons of plowing snow and general farm abuse.

replaced it with a 2021 GMC 1500 AT4.  The totaled truck saved my life, so I figured I should get another one.

Nice truck.  I like the running boards on the AT4.  Good to hear you survived t t-bone/roll over with no apparent issues.  What hit you?

2007 Toyota 4Runner.  I didn't get to see it much after the wreck, but the front end was pretty squished.

How does the ride quality compare between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks? I have only owned 1/2 tons but im considering a 3/4 ton in the future.
Link Posted: 9/25/2022 9:34:58 PM EDT
[#22]
I’ve typically had a 3/4 or 1 ton while had a half ton DD at the same time. Usually never more than 4-5 years old from either.

I prefer the ride of a HD truck, but this truck with Carli suspension rides better than my 18’ Tundra easily. Potholes and rough roads are soaked up in it more so than my Tundra. Before the suspension was installed I still preferred the ride of the 250, but it was a bit more jarring on large potholes and washboard roads etc.

New Tundra. Working on the chrome delete and I'll have to get new tires at some point. These fake Wildpeaks are tiny.

Which kit did you go with? I didn’t go with the radius arms at first, but I think I’m about to order them after all. Current limiting factor on articulation is the radius arm by a good bit. That and it’s ability to clear a wider tire has me sold.

Leveling kit, with the trac-bar and rear blocks.

I bet I got closer to 3.5 out of it, but I have a 2022 so that makes sense. I would be hesitant to run wider rims, 37's clear with only a bit to spare, I don't rub around town but up to camp stretched out at full lock, that plastic thing on the inner fender needs to go.

My rim is a 20×9 with 5.47" backspacing(+12)....pics are at full lock, lots of room on the radius arms, frame and bar...just that little plastic nubby.

My next item from carli will be the sway bar.

That's a strange looking lightbar/marker light setup. I wonder how expensive that will be to replace when it dies.
