Incoming. Planet series. Sun.
My new golf watch. Attached File Edit to add… I have acquired most of my desired Swiss automatics. Time to indulge my kitschy side. |

They totally narfed the rollout of these. They probably figured to bring people in the stores for a bait and switch, but folks lining up for a $200 plastic watch weren't likely to upgrayedd to a $5k Moonwatch. I would've bought a Mercury if they had been available online for the MSRP. I'm not going to scrounge for one and pay 3x that though.

I have the Earth one. Bought it a pop-up in my city a few months ago. I wear it a few times a week. It’s definitely just a Swatch watch, but I still like the style.

[#6]
Probably the most important development in the Watch world since the Apple Watch.
Hear me out. It brought a high-end brand into reach for the average person. Yes- it is a swatch. It’s not a speed master- I get it- but it does say Omega on it. It’s a gateway into the watch world for people who either never wore watches, or those who see them as tools only (the basic smart watch or Walmart watch crowd). Yes- it’s cheap. And the roll out sucked, and the quality is bad, and it was over-hyped- but it also got a generation of people talking about watches that otherwise just walked past the display of cheap watches at Walmart. |
|
|
[#7]
There's another thread in here on them - I think they are fun, and I will eventually buy either a moon or a mercury when I can find one at a store for MSRP. I don't get why people are paying so much over MSRP for them, they are not limited editions and will eventually be widely available. I think that Swatch is doing a great job on marketing these, and bringing some attention back to their brand.

I won one in a raffle at work. It's a little too small for my wrist so I'll probably give it to the neighbor kid. It's a neat little watch but it feels cheap AF.

I’m actually enjoying this abomination.
I haven’t worn a plastic swatch since 1984. It’s fun and eclectic. As opposed to my normal refined and traditional watches for the last decade. Attached File |

Ugh no, man, just no. Not for this guy.
I did see them at the Swatch shop in Times Square. Almost barfed so bad. But hey, if you dig it, enjoy. I own a Keltec so who am I to judge ? 😂 |

I really wanted a Saturn and perhaps a Sun. Until I found out how well they are made and that they tick really loud.
I have no desire for a literally loud watch. |

I don't have a local swatch store, but I travel to some areas with stores every now and then. I'm not in a rush, but I'll buy a Mercury when I find one at a store or online. |

I have the Earth one. The swatch store here in Atlanta carries them now, so I may have to get a few more.

Not my thing. They feel "chintzy" and I just don't like quartz watches (except for a gshock solar).
It was a neat idea for swatch/omega. I also think it could bring new enthusiasts to the hobby. |

I'll get myself one ofthe eventually when I can find one in stock at a swatch store. I like the idea of having a nice watch that is not too expensive. I travel all over the place, and there have been a few times in certain cities where I didn't feel the most comfortable wearing one of my nice watches. A moonswatch can fill that gap for me, plus it's something different. |

People are referencing poor quality... Are there issues beyond it being plastic Swatch construction?
Also, someone mentioned loud ticking. In the 90s I was in an office with 3 other folks. One guy, I'd hear his watch ticking from across the room. I asked him about his watch... yes, it was a Swatch. I like the styling. If they become easily available at or below MSRP, I might pick one up. |

They look interesting but it seems like an odd pairing for Omega to build their brand. I guess they are under the same corporate umbrellas but still.

View Quote The swatch is fun, that’s why I bought one. (Well, that and I bought it in Firenze, so it’s a bit of a souvenir from our honeymoon). I have quartz, automatic, and manual winding watches. As for accuracy, I’ll continue to enjoy to my automatics and the need to adjust them periodically; I appreciate the mechanical aspect of those watches. For me (and many of us), it isn’t about just telling the time. |

I like mine, it is fun for what it is. As long as you dont think you are getting a real Speedmaster and can just enjoy it then its a great watch.
